The Finnish band Korpiklaani is an unusual one. Any time you look at a lineup and see accordions and flutes listed alongside the usual guitar, bass and drums you know you're in for something unique. They blend Finnish folk songs and traditional tales with metal riffs. "Tales Along This Road" wastes no time in getting down to business, and the track "Korpiklaani" follows in the footsteps of "Beer Beer", eager to become the next anthem of any roaring celebration. The songs are a lot of fun and range from drinking songs to mellower more folksy numbers.  (2006)

Rising from the ashes of the criminally underrated and short-lived Rune, MOTA deliver a 17+ minute song which is quite different from their debut release. Kenoma is a like-minded heavy group with two tracks on the split, both of which are over the eight minute mark. They are completely vocal-free and have an affinity for layered melodies.
