Hi Fellow Boingloids...
I happened to turn on
the radio today, and caught the tail end of "Dr. Don
Blue's
Breakfast Club". He made the announcement that
Danny
Elfman of Oingo Boingo would be coming
up
next.

After way to many commercials (ever notice how much
longer tv and radio execs spend playing commercials
these days??? There have been times where I've
literally lost interest in tv and radio shows because of
the length of commercials. Anyone know a place we
could complain about this??) they finally talked to him
for about five minutes.

They played samples of
a few of his scores and opened the phone lines to
see if anyone could
guess what they were. I tried
to call, but couldn't get through. They played
Batman, Dick Tracy, Psycho. Then talked to him about his
work on "Planet of the Apes".
Danny said that he
and Burton were on a plane to New York when Tim asked
him to work on the
movie with him. "There's
something about the
way they move", said Tim. Danny was
like sure.
Danny explained how he needs to see a
rough draft
before he starts, and how he tries to
clear his
mind of any ideas before he sees the rough
draft.
Danny also mentioned that he took a 10 day vacation in
Paris prior to starting work. Tim had warned him that
no one would get any rest over the last four
weeks.

After the interview, they played "Dead Man's
Party".
First time, after a year of listening
to Star101
play the same three or four records over and over, and
say that "These are your
favorites of the 80s",
they FINALLY play an ACTUAL
favorite!

I made
an audio tape of the interview if anyone's
interested.

-Christopher
