Hi naz - in macos I prefer using 'nano' or 'emacs' in the terminal for
databending. If you haven't used terminal before, maybe just google around
for 'terminal.app tutorial' etc :)
You can also use the audio editor 'audacity' to apply audio processing
obliquely to raw image data.
If bending bmps isn't giving you the results you're after, try a compressed
format like jpeg for more chaos!
