inden for vores økonomiske rammer.

Well, the obvious thing is to take the SID chip out and put it in a
HardSID card which you can plug into your PC. But hundreds of people
have done that before and I presume you want to do something new!
The key things you'd be interested in, though, are the VIC-II chip for
video, and the SID chip for sound. Pin-outs and specs for those chips
can be found easily enough on C64 sites or in the C64 manuals.
Even without wielding a soldering iron, you can get some neat effects
by poking random values into the VIC-II's data registers, of course,
which again are easy to find on the net. Or take some SID tunes from
the HVSC, corrupt them slightly, and transfer them into a real C64 to
see what happens. (They'll probably crash but you might get some wild
noises first!)
You might also get some inspiration from some of the modding projects,
such as the MMC reader.

A friend is starting a new online media/arts magazine called Innovative. The
magazine is looking for artists who are unknown and aims to give them
exposure. I know lots of people here are involved in various forms of art
and I thought this list would be an ideal place to reach the right people.
The email address is to reply to is: innovative_06@...
Here are all the details:
INNOVATIVE
adjective
1. origination, creation, invention and design.
2. the art of introducing something new; having a new and unusual idea.
3. a new online magazine introducing new and unrecognised talents.
Innovative covers everything and anything to do with undiscovered works in
the media/arts. Whether these are works by visual artists, writers,
filmmakers, music makers, journalists, or someone making an as-yet unnamed
form of art, Innovative covers it.
This is a place where you can post your work for all to see/read/hear and
comment on, chat to other artists like yourself in the forum, make
career-furthering contacts,
share your ideas before they become reality or simply make friends with
likeminded people.
This is a place where an up and coming artist can show off their skills and
talents, whatever they may be, without bias or discrepancy.
The magazine will be full to bursting point with reviews of short stories,
film scripts, poetry, new music and short films.
“Innovative thoughts lead to Innovative magazine”

FAQ:
1. What is Innovative?
Innovative is an independent online literary/art/media magazine dedicated to
providing exposure for as-yet unknown artists deserving of wider
recognition. Innovative is full of intelligent reviews, articles, interviews
and digital content (music, video and photography) presented to inform and
enlighten.
2. Who is Innovative?
A small but dedicated team of likeminded creative people who love the art
but hate the monotony of mainstream art.
3. What are Innovative’s aims?
To expose progressive artists who innovate through genuine personal
expression rather than novelty. To encourage its readers to be more
creative. To promote thought through its articles and reviews. To unite
individuals who want more than the mainstream media offer. To cover art
which the mainstream media ignore.
4. Why is the magazine called Innovative?
Because of its focus on promoting innovative artists, writers and thinkers.
Also, unlike other magazines Innovative relies upon its readers to determine
much of its content. A large percentage of the magazine consists of works
provided by its creative readership, many of whom are artists, writers, etc.
5. How can I contact Innovative?
Subscribe.
6. How can I contribute to Innovative?
At the moment, you may only contribute on a freelance basis (i.e. no job
vacancies right now). To do so, contact the editor with your ideas or
enclosing a few (i.e. maximum three) LINKS to examples of your work. We love
submissions; we hate Inbox-filling attachments. Remember: LINKS not
ATTACHMENTS.
Bent data wise? So far, just manipulation and playing with multiple
cameras making up one larger image.
Here's a tiny test video of that:

anyone do much with satellite television?
basically, with digital satellite services like directv and dish network, the
signal being sent to your house is an mpeg-2 stream. as you might have heard
from the cable companies' propaganda, bad weather (storms and heavy rain) can
interfere with your reception. however, instead of snow or traditional signal
interference, you get digital distortion. of course, if there's too much
interference, the screen goes black and you get the dreaded "searching for
signal" error message. but sometimes you get a corrupted video signal with
some truly bizarre pixellation effects. the effect is surprisingly similar to
bending JPEG files (though maybe this shouldn't be surprising). it's pretty
cool except when you miss an important episode of your favorite show.
using a dvr and capture card, i've been collecting tv footage that's been
corrupted by stormy weather. recently i edited together some of this footage
and set it to "music" (noise music) by my band animals within animals:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl_GOJB3ZAE
--
I've never thought of it like that before. But I'm going to go with,
"no, it is not strange to eat your own parasite."

CALCULATIONS: PIONEERS OF COMPUTER ANIMATION
THURSDAY MAY 4 @ 6:00 PM
Gene Siskel Film Center
164 N. State
CHI IL .US
$ 9 USD
Decades before Hollywood CGI spectaculars, artists worked with
computers to create an aesthetic specific to the machine. At IBM,
Bell, and in their own home-built labs, they generated visionary
spectacles from mathematical precision--complex abstractions,
stroboscopic patterns, kinetic rhythms, and volumetric illusions.
Tonight's program is a cross-section of films by these early pioneers-
from John Whitney's stunning, analog-computer-generated CATALOG
(1961, 7 min.) and the pulsating geometry of Lillian Schwartz's
ENIGMA (1972, 4 min., archival print) to the dense digital
metaphysics of John Stehura's CIBERNETIK 5.3 (1965-69, 8 min.,
archival print) and the allegorical characters of Peter Foldes'
HUNGER (1973, 12 min.). Also on the program: HUMMINGBIRD (Charles
Csuri, 1967 10 min.); SUNSTONE (Ed Emshwiller, 1979, 3 min.);
CALCULATED MOVEMENTS (Larry Cuba, 1985, 6 min.); POEMFIELD NO. 5:
FREE FALL (Stan VanDerBeek, 1966, 7 min.); PERMUTATIONS (John
Whitney, 1968, 7 min.). 1961-1985, Canada/USA, 64 min.
16mm.
[FRAY]
Tonight's show is an instance of [FRAY], a distributed series of
screenings, discussions, student initiated projects and a conference.
[FRAY] traces intersecting hyperthreads of time, screen and code-
based experimental New Media art hosted by the School of the Art
Institute of Chicago's Department of Film, Video, and New Media.
