I actually have Photoshop 8 (CS) but no experience in importing raw data with it. "Help" isn't very helpful and neither is a thorough poking around of the menu...
Go to File > Open. When the dialog comes up, change the format (lower left of dialog box) to Photoshop RAW and choose "All Documents" from the menu at the top....
if you'd like to do things a little more scientifically, you can set the height to 1 pixel, and the length equal to the number of samples in the original sound...
