howdy kids,
i'm sorry to trouble you in such an untimely manner
but i have a couple of matters of great urgency
that i'd like to ask for your help with.

this is a message about my friend nimas need for housemates
and some further information about the impending development
of the place of the fairy folk in vienna that i'd dearly love
for you to consider in your heart.

my dear friend nima
is in need of 3 or 4 housemates
he has a lovely house in arlington
available june 1st
with a great back porch,
a sexy rainbow colored rug in the basement,
a kick ass bar,
and it's on a corner lot.
i personally would love to live there.
i wish it were possible for me.
i'm pretty sure someone or other i've known
has been in the house
for the last ten years
and we'd like to pass it down to someone cool.
it's at 922 n. nottingham
near the east falls church metro...
westover to be precise.
the rent will be between 4 and 5 something
depending on how many folks we can find to move in.
i'd think it would make an excellent band house
or show house perhaps.
maybe.
anyhow.
yeah
do give the house a call if you're interested
(703)237-3190

also i sent out a message last week
about the prospective sale of the fairyland
once colloquially known as midgetville
and more acurately known as wedderburn
my friend janel wedderburn leppin
has made it her lifes work to see that
the land is going to be preserved
and used in a fashion consistent with a
healthy and vibrant future for our planet..
and she speaks for it's inhabitants
that don't have a voice otherwise
such as the tree people and the animal people and the bird people.
she's trying to preserve it from the
hordes of mc.mansions and apartment buildings
that threaten to turn our environs into an ecological desert.
as you may have noticed..
there was a county meeting scheduled for this thursday
that i was asking you concerned citizens and activists to attend
and thankfully it has been postponed until next thursday
so that we may amass more concerned folks.
please spread the word to your lists and friends..

here is an email that janel forwarded me that
specifically deals with the issue at hand:

Planning Commission Hearing:
Time, Place, Driving Directions, How You Can Help

Thursday, May 27, 2004, 8:15 p.m. -
Planning Commission Meeting,
Government Center -- Board Auditorium,
12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA
Event Contact: Laura Kaulback Espiritu, 703-324-2865
Special Accommodations Contact:
Laura Kaulback Espiritu,
703-324-2865, TTY 703-324-7951, FAX 703-324-3948

How You Can Help:

Come to the meeting! By having a large turn-out
we will be demonstrating to our elected officials
that they must address the many concerns
this development is causing, and do so before the final vote.
Note the telephone #. That is the # for
putting your name on the speaker's list.
The deadline is 3 pm Thursday, the 27th.
The speakers list becomes available at 3:30 pm Thursday.
It may be that, the sooner you add your name to the list,
the earlier you will speak.
(You can also wait till the last minute
and just show up, too,
although you get only 3 minutes to speak,
vs. 5 minutes if you do it in advance.)
If you are speaking--or if you are not
but would like your opinion entered into the public record,
bring 15 copies of your testimony (or a summary of it)
with you so that each Planning Commission member
will have a copy and your contact information.
On Thursday afternoon, check our website (below)
or call the number above to make sure our issue
is still on the agenda for that evening.
Bring food and drink, things to read.
We may be towards the end of the agenda,
since our issue is one of the biggest and most controversial,
and the hearing can run as late as 1 or 2 am.
It is important that folks have the stamina to wait it out
and get up the microphone when their turn comes.
Call 703-205-0989 or email star-listsonly@...
to find out how to plug in and help out.
The next few weeks will be literally makeor BREAK!

Directions:
From Rte 66 West, take exit Rte 50 West/Lee-Jackson Mem. Hwy.
At first major exit, take West Ox Road heading south.
(The exit is a clover leaf and you will loop back over Rte 50,
so its the second, not the first exit.
The first exit will take you north on W. Ox)
After about 1/3 mile, turn left onto Monument Drive,
cross Fair Lakes Parkway, cross over Rte 66.
Turn right onto Government Center Parkway.
The Government Center is on your left.
Transit time from Vienna/Dunn Loring/Tysons Cnr: 20-30 min.

i will send out any corrections next week.
much love my people..
