TBA, 8:00 pm, not every punk rocker is going to be at
warped tour as it passes along the east coast this
summer. two veterans of the punk rock scene, kevin
seconds ( legendary frontman of the pioneering
hardcore band 7seconds) and kepi ghoulie
(singer/songwriter of the underground pop/punk outift
groovie ghoulies), will be bringing their own little
festival of sorts to new jersey, new york, and the
d.c. area in early august. both of these artists spend
much of their down time (can you apply this word to a
caffienated workaholic?), when they are not touring,
playing with their more coffee-house-friendly bands
ghetto moments (kevin) and the haints (kepi),
painting, and playing solo shows. they have both
traveled the world with their bands, and seldom bring
their art and solo performances outside of their
hometown sacramento. kevin and kepis artistic
creations are well loved in sacramento, and in
addition to being shown in galleries and coffeehouses
all over northern california, have created quite a
stir on-line as well, thus prompting this endeavor to
bring it to the people! three shows will be held in
which both artists will play a solo musical
performance, and each event will include a one night
only art show, with acrylic paintings and more,
perhaps original screen printed t-shirts by kepi, or
photography by kevin. the new york show (cbgb gallery,
sat. aug. 5th) will also include an acoustic/unplugged
performance by local faves the unloveables. a new
jersey / pa show is being confirmed for aug. 4th, and
a special all ages matinee show has been booked for
sunday afternoon (6:00p.m.) , aug. 6th at blondeshells
in silver spring, md (d.c. area). check web site for
directions.
