Fellow Fans,
I had the great plesure of attending last night's show in New Haven, held in a
neighborhood club about twice the size of my living room. They played on a tiny
stage tucked in a corner at the end of the bar. At the height of the show there
were approx. 40 people in attendance. Towards the end of their only set, I
looked around to see only 10 or 12 people left. Needless to say, there was no
encore.
This was my first Dead Moon live performance and they more than lived up to my
expectations. I was there early, before they arrived. When they showed up I
introduced myself and offered to help unload their gear, which I did and helped
load after the show. I had time to sit and chat with Toody, Fred and Andrew, as
well as Andrew's wife, who handled sales of merchandise. They were such
friendly, decent unassuming people. They later gladly autographed a poster for
my daughter after a terrific set with songs spanning their entire career. It
was a night I'll never forget. I got the feeling that except for a few people,
no one in the club new anything about them. This is a shame because they are so
talented, "the real deal".
I'm going to Sunday night's show in Northampton, MA. I'll try to send a report.
I hope I haven't gone on too long.
