Yes. it appears that all 3 members of Dead Moon have landed WELL on
thier feet again. A little history on The Shiny Things. Led by Husband
Wife team Mark and Terri Nelson, Mark has been a mainstay of the
Portland Oregon rock and roll community, as has Terri, for many years
now. Forming and playing in Napalm Beach When Fred Cole was in Zipper.
Mark and Fred also played together in a killer line up band, called The
Torpedos. Most recently, They Shiny things was Mark, and Terri, along
with on drums Pat Connor (Toody Coles brother), Mark Burnett, an
extremly talented guitar player/writer/preformer, and Greg Shadoan
(Zipper) on bass. Some of you may have met me (Greg Shadoan), out on
tour on the last Dead Moon tour in Europe doing sound and road
management. When I returned, the Trading Spouses episode was in the
can, and things really took off for the band. Unfortunily, Mark
Burnett, Pat Conner, and myself, realized that with our family and work
obligations, we were not able to commit to the schedule that was soon
coming the bands way, so we have now all left. Andrew a big fan of the
band for along time, (Dead Moon and the Shiny Things often preformed
together in the Portland area), was delighted to take over drumming
duties for Pat Conner, and Becca D, has now taken over lead guitar
role, and Montana Slim has since taken over bass. Look for big things
from this band. There may also be a Europe tour in the works, what with
Andrews many contacts, and good freinds there. This summer look for The
Shiny Things to tour the US west coast in support of the latest record,
with shows ending in Las Vegas. Just so you know, my time with the band
was one of the best experiences of my life. It is with great sadness
that I had to bow out. The song writing skills this band brings to bear
are amazing. With the addition of Becca D also writing some amazing
material, this jugernaut will only stop after they have conqured the
world.
