Pierced Arrows played an all ages benefit show @ The Mine, 5113 Russell Ave NW,
in Ballard area of Seattle Saturday Night. * The show will benefit Hollow Earth
Radio.

The show was a late addition to the concert calendar

to find, not that Russell Avenue NW was tough but the place being just a
basement of a building with no signs or address numbers posted or anything. It
turns out that The Mine is one building North of the Old Grey Top Taxi lot that
occupied the place for years, which is now used by the local Subaru dealer as a
parking lot. Anyway, the basement was funky to say the least. The stage was
small and Fred had this orange lamp shade behind his head and with not much room
to navigate, there he stayed for the remainder of the show. I wonder if the few
photog's in the crowd got a shot of Fred with this orange glow behind his head
?(!). There was a crew there with a computer rolling during the show. I wonder
if it was Hollow Earth Radio recording the show for future broadcasts ? I'll
have to check out their site. Pierced Arrow was in good form. They rolled thru
many of their songs. The crowd was kind of quiet. The joint was tight with
various gear, a frig (no beer) and other items that seemed to keeping the throng
from cutting loose. In addition, there was no booze that usually fires up a
Pierced Arrow show, other then the BYOB that was around. All in all a good time
and the cover went to a good cause.
