This year's Queen's List honours were announced, and
while no musicians were knighted this year, a few made
Commander of the British Empire (CBE) and Member of
the Order of the British Empire (MBE). Sting and
David Gilmour are both CBEs, for their charity work;
Gerry Marsden (Gerry & the Pacemakers), Gary Brooker
(Procol Harum), and Errol Brown (Hot Chocolate) became
MBEs, for their contributions to the arts.

Way to go, guys! Especially Gilmour, who just donated
$5 million to help house London's homeless.
