Some time around 2001, a vibrant ska scene sprung forth throughout the American South. Soon, bands like AKA Rudie, Las Cabriolas, and Mandorico enjoyed loyal followings and toured extensively. These regional bands were soon followed by larger acts like The Toasters, The Slackers, and Reel Big Fish.
But by 2007, most of the Southern ska scene was gone. People moved on, and bands broke up.
With over 150 Links, this Group seeks to become a valuable resource to help rebuild a ska scene in the southern US.
If you a ska enthusiast or play in a ska band, please join! Together, a healthy Southern ska scene can rise again.
