I'm afraid to say that I just don't have the time anymore to keep Descent
going. So I've made the decision to shut it down.
If someone else would like to take it over, I would be more than happy to
continue hosting it.
Otherwise, it was fun. I hope you all have great lives!

hi
does anybody know how to get to the hidden extras
on the discs
i have been busy making a copy of mine
and i found the two tracks with different camera
angles on disc one
but according to the homepage on disc 2 is also
something hidden
when you copy the disc 2 there is only 2 tracks to
copy
the bloodflowers and encore set and the interviews
for anyone who hasn´t seen triology yet
it is well worth the money
and better value than paying the 100 euro/dollar or
65 quid for a black market ticket at the time
treat yourself
and buy it now
can´t wait to hear the new stuff
and be able to go to an affordable concert soon
bye

One thing I really do not look forward to is Robert's collaboration with
Blank & Jones - those two guys are responsible for some of the worst Trance
music out there... I really wonder how Robert's mind has been working lately...

I think not. I heard the song with Junkie XL was recorded 2 years ago,
but that it wasn't released until now because of some record company /
legal issues.
But just like you, I'm already looking forward to hearing new work from
the band :-)

Subject: [descent] New Junkie XL Song
On his new album, =8Cour=B9 Dutch DJ Junkie XL has included atrack
featuring
Robert: Perfect Blue Sky. The Album features other artists like Chuck D,
Anouk, and good old Solomon Burke in great songs, but Perfect Blue Sky
alon= e is reason enough to run to your local CD shop and purchase
=8CRadioJXLaBaroadcastFromTheComputerHellCabin=B9 .
To my humble ears, Perfect Blue Sky is akin to the work of The Glove in
the early 1983s, and consititutes a nice addition to the electronic work
of The Cure (which I admire most, as you might recall). The only worry I
have afte= r hearing this track is that the new album will only be
delayed by doing this sort of side-track.

Similar here. "What she said" really makes me shiver. (Though
sometimes I feel Loveless is a slighlty over-rated record.)

I guess you and I should both check chainofflowers.com
again. ;o) "Recorded at: Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany on Nov
11th & 12, 2002". It's not one of 2 nights in Berlin like
you suggest, it's both nights. And, it's not parts of all 3
nights like CD Universe and the other merchants state as I
quoted earlier.

I suppose from this you mean that the web-site has not
been updated for some time. I suppose that quite often
this is done by people at the label, and not actually
the band themselves (although I know that in the past
the band have written information for the site
themselves).
Perhaps with their change of label etc, there hasn't
been much work going into it. I'm sure that once a new
album is on its way we'll hear more. Although you
would think that there would be something about the
DVD.
I always read Chain of Flowers for information. I
don't think that to be great a band has to do all this
promotional stuff, for me it's about the music.
As for the hall of fame, I'm not sure whether you're
saying that they have no chance of getting in or not.
I think that they deserve it, but may be too
unfashionable now to achieve it.

Ok either this is a really old post or you have not been reading chain of

Yes there is a new DVD from Berlin called the Triology DVD(sorry to bore
everyone else)
Yes there is a new album on the way recording should begin sometime this
year.
So what if the Cure dont do anything for 7 months hello its been over 20
years now dont you think they deserve breaks???
If you miss them that much listen to their back catalogue and if you dont
think they deserve the recognition of their fans then you are on the wrong

Anywho I cant wait till next monday to get the trilogy DVD. I just hope our
music stores here have it in on monday.

It's a 2-CD set w/all three albums in their entirety, plus 3 songs from Kiss

nights. Do you think that the information that the merchants
are using is just simplified to help explain why parts of 3
different shows are on the DVD instead of just 1 complete
show?
(hope my question makes sense)

Hi (jumping in a little late with this one)
I really enjoy The Walkmen as well. They had one of the
coolest and most disappointing live shows. Their songs were
awesome live. They had the lights turned down really low, we
could barely see them in this little bar. The ambiance that
they produced was very special. The disappointing part was
the fact that they headlined the 3 band show and played for
only 35 minutes. Their first full length CD is longer than
that. I guess I'm really spoiled by the Cure always putting
on 3 hour shows with no openers (usually, I know).
I'm listening to Interpol right now, excellent. I think that
the Joy Division comparisons are warranted. Starflyer 59 has
been around for about 10 years and can be very
Cure-guitar-esque. Dredg is another great "atmospheric" type
band currently opening the Sno-Core tour.
I would have to sort of disagree with the
guitar-driven-Indie-Rock-scene-being-passe sentiments. Maybe
it's just thriving in San Francisco? The Walkmen with Hot
Hot Heat sold out the 300 (?) seating bar/club. Sno-Core
with Sparta, Glassjaw, Hot Water Music, and Dredg sold out
back-to-back shows at The Great American Music Hall 700 (?)
seats/bodies. Interpol sold out back-to-back shows at The
Fillmore 1000 seats/bodies (?). To me, Coldplay can be
Cure-esque and they recently sold out The Shoreline
Amphitheatre 10,000 (?). All of these shows have happened
within the last month or so or haven't happened yet.
Again, to me, Electro just screams 1997. That was 6 years
ago. Everything goes in cycles and it seems to me that
Guitar is the current "cool" place to reside. Proof...? Not
much guitar on MTV but all of these shows are selling out in
spite of it. :-)

I haven't listened to any of their new material, but I used to love them
way, way back, when I started getting into The Cure (around 1985). At the
time, they were just as big in France as The Cure; they were teen idols that
people adored.
Which album does remind you of The Cure?

I have 2 Indochine CD's, La Baise and 7,000 Danses. They DO have that
Cure/80's band sound but the sound reminds me of Depeche Mode and OMD as
well.

offer up cure stuff for sale. if i were selling some of my cure stuff i
would rather sell it here first then ebay or whatnot.

that reminds me of the cure. even their videos have a cure feel to them (at
least the two that i have seen).

It's great to discuss music, I've enjoyed reading everyone's post about the cure

interested in buying a cure product offered up on this list (if I had any cash).

no, we're not all here to show some undying unconditional love for the
cure - mind-boggling to conceive so.
as for chris crocker - he must be the last person on this list to need
to resort to dimes from a cure sale.
as a successful major airline pilot he could buy the contents of this
mailing list 10 times over.

or just for earning some money?

I love the Cure, but what's the point? I would come out from dave gahan
birthday cake for some hundreds bucks... The Cure is not sacred as nothing
is and Smith has been very commercial and cinic himself. How much money
robert made with 'pictures of you'? ten different formats for the single??
come on, money is useful to buy stuff... so it's cool.
have a little fun...
