Hey Arndt!

Welcome back! Have a good time? Do anything fascinating? I am
currently dl'ing the Onkelz special, will take me a few hours
I guess, it better save better than the last time I tried to
save one of your programs, or you will hear my screaming all
the way in California! :)

On a side note, I have ordered the movie, "Dandy" from Peter
Sempel, should be here w/in the next couple weeks. Has anyone
here seen it? I imagine it'll be all in German but I hear it
has some cool music... Just wondering what I might expect or
what it might be about since even after I watch it I won't
know, seeing as how my German royally SUCKS! ;)

Anyway, good to hear from you again, Arndt! Did you get your
Onkelz interview back yet?

Is there any sort of news to report? I assume you
were there on a promotional trip? I'd like to hear
anything that happened with the German music export
office and whoever else is involved with all of this
:)

Well... just read the Onkelz interview on
http://www.radiogoethe.de & listened to the program, also
found at the same site & they both were AWESOME! It's so nice
to see the Onkelz presented the way they are instead of the
way people have chosen to view them, thanx, Arndt! Excellent
interview! :) Though it's sad they won't play here... maybe
they could just hop on another band's tour & surprise us
all! :) That would be sooo awesome! And they wouldn't have to
worry about promotion or anything! Terrorgruppe should be
coming here next year ;) Alright, anyway, back to reality...
it was a brilliant bit of work, Arndt, thanx again :)

i had some talks with the representatives of this music export office
and the cultural department of the government. it goes, very slow,
step by step, but it's moving forward. a major battle is the
financing, how much the music industry pays for it etc. but i'm
optimistic, there are some good guys behind the idea.

That sounds good! Well, slow isn't so wonderful, but
at least it's being discussed now, and things will
hopefully come together fairly soon. I'm glad to hear
you are optimistic too :) I doubt I can help much
more but if it's possible, I am very willing.

would it be possible to send your compilation to some
radio stations that could be possibilities but are
hesitant? ...to jump start their interest perhaps?

Hi Lucy! welcome to the group. I'm also a great fan of Rammstein and
I'm learning more about german music here, I think tere are many
interesting bands and is a good alternative for people who is already
sick of "plastic" bands and singers.

First, I'd like to welcome our two newest members: Lucy and
OomphFrance. Welcome and enjoy.

Second off... I have learned today that the Polish group "Laibach"
will be touring the states in October and November of this year. There
is no "real" information available as of yet, but I am sure that more
news will come. If anyone finds out more inormation before I, please
feel free to post it here. We'd all like to hear about it I'm sure.

Laibach, although Polish, have sung various songs in the German
language and are listed at DML. Thus the reason why this basic
information is being listed. They last toured the US in 1997, so this
would be a good chance to see them. Who knows when they will return.

Hope all is well you you all,

1: Laibach is from Slovenia ;)
2: New single "Tanz mit Laibach" to be released in
July
3: New album "WAT" to be released in August followed
by their European Tour, then states.
4: There have been some "theories" about the new album
and what a theme might be, but if you want to hear
them, you'll have to ask Niko ;)

Hey people! If if you like In Extremo this may interest you: there is
a demo available at mp3.com, from an italian band named Cum Fragore,
they sing in german and latin (and italian, of course). And
since "deutschmusikland" includes also non-german bands that sing in
german... I think it's interesting. They are a very good band.

I pay a little visit to the page every week or so.
I'd like to say that the page looks awful. This is no way intended to be
offensive, it's just that I'm a web developer and I'm used to some very
beautiful data-driven sites.
I would like to help, developing a new site for the group, one that pleases the
eye of the visitor and is also easy to update.
If you guys want to look at the work we've done for another group I'm in, go to
www.ultraviolet-u2.com. It's a U2 fan site and it's in Portuguese. I'm aware the
this site's visual project is far from good, but the owner said she wanted
something light, which for me means ugly :)
I also work in a company that develops web-based financial systems and we work
with a very good web-designer who helps every once in a while to develop
something.
I can ask him to creat the visual art and I put some administrative systems
behind which will make easy to update and to organize all the information.
Well, that's a suggestion, if you guys want some help, just write. If you don't
want any help and feel like I bothering you, then sorry :)

Vanalli

Just figured I'd post this since no one ever seems to be
aware of the fact that we do, now & then, do some work on the
site... http://www.deutschmusikland.com/news.html will show
you that we have 4 more bios added to the site, 2 of which
were done by Joe, very nice, Joe, thanx! :) Since it's almost
the end of the month it's probably safe to say that's it for
now but you never know, I'll try to keep everyone informed of
our actions :)

Sorry, I forgot something: you must sign in to dl music from mp3.com,
but you can try & do it because it's absolutely free. And you can
download many songs from (relatively) unknown german bands (e.g.,you
can't download music from In Extremo or Kraftwerk). Anyway, I
downloaded the songs and can put them in my Yahoo Briefcase if you
want them.

First off, I LOVE your site!

Second off, respectfully, I think you've omitted some important
bands/artists:

Hanzel Und Gretyl
http://www.hanzelundgretyl.com/
OK, you can argue they're not German anymore since they live in New
York, but they sing in German a lot more than many German bands that
remain in the fatherland.

Haujobb
http://haujobb.scene.org/

Trio
(no website?)
C'mon! "Da da da!" They're one third of the Falco-Nena-Trio
triumvirate that defined breakthrough German new wave in the 80's.

Der Blutharsch
http://www.derblutharsch.com/
OK, they're not even remotely Pop, and they're Austrian, not German,
but they're probably the second biggest "dark ambient" band on the
international scene behind Death in June.

I'll stop now before I start ranting about Die Schlumpfe.

please don't include blutharsch in your list. this band is quite
strange....they are considered to be part of the extreme right wing
scene. death in june is as well some neo conservative group. please be
careful who you include.
and hanzel and gretyl....first of all, in my opinion, they suck....ok,
that doesn't count....but they were never german...but it might be
that their grandmother had a german shephard.
