After spending time with Baba two weeks ago, his passing was not a
surprise to me.
He didn't want his condition "advertised into the community", but I did
get his permission to send out the " Baba's Spirit is strong but his Body
is weak" message.
I had been drumming for Baba and sending him "Hospice" prayers since our
last meeting, so I was ready for the news when Jason and Pamela,( Baba's
Eslayn caretakers), called me Sunday morning.
I was in Phoenix yesterday when I got that call. I was deep conversation
with John P. Barlow, The Grateful Dead lyricist.
After I related the news to him, we sat in silence saying our personal
goodbyes. John broke the silence by saying;
" Baba had a very discernible soul"
After that, we started trading our Baba stories, laughing and crying into
the night.
By sharing our Baba stories we were celebrating his Life.
Help us celebrate by sharing your stories here.
Baba dedicated his life to birthing the Drumming-Dancing community we
have today. Our community is his legacy and gift to us.
We are Baba's children.
In Love ........ Arthur
