This is everything I know so far about the events planned to honor Baba in NY.
Sunday-April 27-Drumming groups from all over, among them the Kazi Oliver
Drumers, the Central Park Drummers, the Congo Square (Prospect Park) Drummers,
plus individual drummers will gather at 1PM at 125th. Street and Madison Avenue.
There will be drumming and dance along a selected route which ends at Marcus
Garvey Park. I do not believe the exact route has yet been designated. Monday,
April 28-Funeral celebration at Riverside Church, Riverside Drive between
120th-122nd. Streets. (Subway stops at 116th and Broadway, 125th. and Broadway).
Walk one west to Riverside Drive. 1-9 PM-Viewing, Christ Chapel2-11AM-Funeral,
the Nave3-Reception following the funeral4-Everyone is requested to drum for
Baba at Grant's tomb, just down the street in the park.
