Mod Note:
There are different ways of weaving drums in Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast. There is no Mali weave and there is no Guiena weave per se. I know because I've been there and many people do differently.

And countries where the jembe tarveled to and now pump out volume drums have some crazy ways of weaving also. Like Senegal and Ghana.

The phrase 'Mali Weave' caught on years ago, like the word 'pulling' or 'pulling diamonds'. There were a few videos that taught varius ways to do the 'Mali Weave'. 'Tightening the drum' is also a good phrase.
