Dallas' Peace March and Rally was awesome. We rode on the back of the lead
truck, drumming non-stop from 12:45 pm during the gathering to the end some
3 hrs later, a break, then some guerilla drumming and dance til 6 pm ......
We marched 12 blocks from the Meyerson Performance Hall to the Kennedy
Memorial. About 30 drummers and musicians came to support Drums not Guns
drumming for No War in Iraq, but, it seemed like 70 ...... we were in sync
with each other, the chanters, and the marchers. Our Peace Rally stretched
12 blocks and 6000 people were counted ..... the biggest EVER in Dallas
history for a pre-war peace march, bigger than Vietnam era Peace Rallies.
When the last row of marchers left the starting point, the lead car was
arriving at the end. And, totally non-violent!!! And we drummed the whole
time ..............
All had a very good time, lots of great energy created, played with and
shared ............ with friends ..... and, I'd do it again ...... and
probably will ......... as I've been invited to a drum party, tonight
.........
How did yours go?
peace werks,
Drums not guns
