Oops ………… somewhere, my information was incorrect ….. and where I posted “Saturday” it’s actually SUNDAY, December 14.

 

Greetings drummers, dancers and other music enthusiasts:

 

Dallas’ ‘Run The Rock Marathon’ is Sunday, December 14 …..Beginning and

ending at the American Airlines Center (ACC).  The course is 26.5 miles

long.

 

Drums not Guns has been invited to perform to create energy for the START of

the race as well as keeping the energy going on the course for the runners.

 

 

DnG needs 10 drummers who’d like to be part of the START at AAC …. 8 am

[Assembly 7:30 am] – afterwards, we’ll boogey on over to the Bath House

Cultural Center.  We will have priority parking passes at AAC for those who

volunteer.  Refreshments will be provided by White Rock Marathon at both the

ACC & Bath House for all.

 

 DnG will be doing our fun, Drum Fiesta (interactive drumcircle) at Mile

Marker 15 … at the Bath House Cultural Center, 612 E. Lawther Dr., Dallas, 9 am – noon.  We

need ya’ll to come, with your children and friends, and join us as we drum

the runners onward to the Finish Line.  You must be assembled by 9 am at the

Bath House as the first runner comes thru at 9:15 am.  We will play Yankadi

for the video cam, so, start practicing your chops.

We will be playing in the grassy strip that is in front of the Bath House.

Bring your own chairs. We will provide percussion toys too. You can get an

inexpensive folding, wooden chair at Target or Wall-Mart for $15.

 

The nice folks at the White Rock Marathon will be videoing the entire run

for a documentary, and will include the drummers on their CD and Video, as

they will have a motorcycle cam on the course. DCTV to video the

race and weekend events, including all bands on the course.  Then, they will

produce a t.v. show which will air on Channel 27 a couple of weeks

after the race--probably during the holidays.

 

All acoustic g’tar players are invited to join our Drum Fiesta, too, and
we’ll do a music jam as well.  It will be fun and exciting.  Dress warm. 
If it ’s raining, the gig is canceled for us.  Goats do not like water!
