As an avid student of Drums Not Guns, I'd like to add to Happy's remarks..

For those of you unfamiliar with DNG, they are a wonderful group of people commited to serving the community in many capacities. This includes their drumming workshop in McKinney which takes place each Saturday. The sense of community and support I've received since becoming involved with DNG has been amazing. Their comittment to offering children and adults peaceful activities that promote self-confidence and offer sheer pleasure seems to come from a place of altruism deep in their hearts.

Because of DNG, there are children in McKinney who otherwise would not have access to drums, much less drumming lessons. I've come to know and love these youngsters and believe me when I tell you, their involvement in drumming is vital!! I've learned a great deal about these kids and the challenges they are facing, but they are comitted to learning drumming and make a point of finding their way to classes independent of their parents.

DNG doesn't charge a penny for these classes. Becoming a member of DNG and helping them with their expenses is a good investment in community and the future of these kids.

With appreciation,
Lucy Parker Watkins
