A very peculiar week ........   Message List

I'm doing Jury Service at the mo ... or rather I'm supposed to be
doing Jury Service. The reality is that I've spent a lot of the week
just hanging around Croydon Crown COurt reading and chatting to the
other Jurors. Twice my name has been called as a potential Jury
member, twice I've gone to the relevant Court Room and had my name
called out to be on the Jury and twice the Judge has stood me down
because the cases were Government Departments prosecuting members of
their staff. Still it has meant I've been home nice and early each
day and had time to catch up with My Space and the new music I've
acquired recently.

Simple Plan finally released their third album this week and I'm
pleased to report that it's every bit as good as their first two. The
first track, When I'm Gone, has been around a while as it was
released as a single and is a good, catchy opener. After a few
listens I think my favourite track is Generation, which I recall from
the recent gig in Camden, but it is a very strong album and doesn't
have a bad track on it.

I've recently heard a song called Sunshine in The Rain by Swedish
band BWO played a lot on the radio. At first hearing it really
sounds like something that was released back in the 70's but in fact
it is a fairly recent single that is being rereleased in the UK next
week. The band cite their influences as including Abba and Kraftwerk
but I'd say they're definitely more Abba than they are Kraftwerk.
They've had several albums released in Europe over the years and
their first two albums are being released here on 3 March - best buy
being about £6.99 each from Amazon - and I'm really looking forward
to hearing more of them. Anyone interested in finding out more
should check out their My Space site at:

and so to one of the best bits of news this week - Boy Kill Boy have
finally announced a London date at the Bloomsbury Ballroom for their
forthcoming tour. Needless to say that tix have already been
ordered !
