There are a few decent gigs happening now. Friday night I was at
Wembley with friends and my two nieces for the first of the Osmonds
50th Anniversary London shows - and what a fantastic night it was !
None of us could believe just how quickly the time went and before we
knew it, it was 10.30 and time to head home. Having never been an
Osmond fan back in the 70's, these days I am totally captivated by
them - they're so professional, highly entertaining and just so
downright lovely ! It was quite something to see all the Osmonds
together on stage but thankfully not quite so emotional as when Alan
came on and joined his brothers at their Hammersmith show a couple of
years back, when I think the entire audience was blubbing. Everything
about the evening was perfect - a well thought out show, superb
performances from all the Osmonds, good sound and a great atmosphere.
Last night I had thought of maybe checking out the sensational Kiss
tribute Dressed To Kill at the Standard in Walthamstow but, being
totally wrecked after spending most of the week in Cologne, opted to
stay in and watch An Audience With Neil Diamond. It was a very
enjoyable programme and I'd love to see Neil, who also has London dates
coming up soon but with the ticket prices somewhere in the region of
£70 - £80, I'll probably settle for buying his new CD.
If I recall correctly I think that the Glitz, Blitz tour is due to hit
the South East this week and David Essex is also touring now .....
though my next gigs will be The Pigeon Detectives in Brighton on
Tuesday night followed by Tiny Dancers in Islington next Saturday.
