The great Ustad Vilayat Khan has died in hospital
in Mumbai. I've been unable to find a mention on
a web site, though I've not looked that hard.

I was fortunate enough to see him recently in New York
and had hoped to attend the concert mentioned in the
obituary. He was accompanied then by Zakir Hussain, who
despite his own stature deferred entirely to the Ustad.
The set was too short, but that was my only criticism,
and both musicians seemed to be having a great time.
