Re: [doregama] The greatest rock tracks of All Time

Yes, there seem to be quite a few suprises, notably: Alan Parsons, The
Cars, Supertramp and ZZ Top. I really don't think they deserve a top
50 status. :) I was disappointed to find CSNY (or CSN for that matter)
missing in the list. They *should* have been in the top 50.

Speaking of rock, has anybody listened to Nick Drake's music?
(http://www.nickdrake.com). His music is mostly progressive folk rock,
with a touch of jazz. He is virtually unknown in the classic rock
community, but seems to have a cult following nevertheless, thanks to
the internet (apparently, he committed suicide in '72 out of
frustration due to lack of commerical success with his music). His
acoustic guitaring is simply out of this world. Great voice, great
playing (plays in some really strange tunings and with wierd picking
strums and patterns), plus great song-writing. He would definitely be
in my top 10 rock musicians list. His song "Northern Sky", appears in
the soundtrack of the movie Serendipity, and is probably his only real
mainstream song so to speak. Drake has only three studio albums. All
of them are gems.
