single "Early Morning". You should expect to find your surprise gift
in the mail very soon. We've decided to leave the single up on our
MP3.com website (http://www.mp3.com/downweller) for people to enjoy
until the album is released this summer. See the bottom of this
newsletter for info on the album completion.


Downweller takes over Playdium Band Wars

With your help of course! Thanks to all of you who have already
logged on to http://www.playdiumbandwars.com and voted for us. We
are currently #9 and the voting doesn't close until May 17th/02 so we
have lots of time to move up to #1.

For those who haven't voted the process is really easy...
1) Go over to http://www.playdiumbandwars.com and click on FANS/VOTE
2) Enter in your e-mail address and other info
3) Check your e-mail for a message with your special password
4) Go back to the BandWars site, type in your e-mail and password
5) Then VOTE for whoever you like best (Downweller we hope!)


New Music West 2002 Showcase
----------------------------
Once again Downweller has been chosen out of the 900 bands who
applied to play in this year's New Music West festival. With over
200 local bands playing over three nights there will be lots of great
music to see. Come on out and support the Vancouver music scene.
Take a look and listen to the best west coast music has to offer.
Our show will be THURSDAY MAY 9th/02 at Ms. T's Cabaret, 339 West
Pender, in Vancouver along with "Lo-Fi Love", "Delusional", "Boy",
and "My Buddy Dave". Doors open at 8pm and Downweller will hit the
stage at 12am.

Album Release Updates
---------------------
The album is progressing nicely. All the tracking has been completed
and we are beginning the mixing process. Next we'll move onto
mastering the album and putting it together with all the artwork.
Once that is complete, we send it off to be duplicated. Then we get
the distribution in place and you'll be able to find it in all your
favorite record stores around Vancouver and Lower Mainland. When
will all this be completed? Good question - we're pushing to have it
completed this summer, so we'll keep you updated.
