FALL of 2000 is packed with lots of great things for DRIVIN' RAIN and their friends. This October the band will be on both CD and TV!
* On September 5th DRIVIN' RAIN filmed six original songs to be aired on TV. The boys laid it down at POPS in Sauget Il http://popsrocks.com One of the songs will be featured on MidCoast Mania, A St. Louis TV show that features only the best in local and regional music. It will be broadcast on the show sometime in the next eleven weeks, on KMOV Channel 4 late Friday Night from 1 to 1:30AM. The song will also be played on the MidCoast Mania Radio Hour on KNSX 93x in St. Louis. Each week three bands will be aired on the show, then the video will be showcased on the MCM Website http://midcoastmania.com. Viewers will be have three bands a week to vote on. At the end of each week the band with the highest votes gets moved to the finalist category. At the end of the eleven weeks they will have 11 bands eligible for the Grand Prize. Viewers will ten be asked to vote on their favorite video from the final list of bands. There will only be one vote per email address per week for bands showcased on the website.
On the 12th week the winning band will be announced LIVE at POPS during MidCoast Mania Night and also broadcast on the MCM TV and Radio shows. The videos for that nights show will be the top five bands as voted on the MCM Website. The 13th week will feature the winning band in a special 2 hour recorded show. With the runner up opening the show. The winning band gets the Grand Prize, a complete half hour Midcoast Mania TV Show dedicated to the winning band featuring interviews and approximately 4 live performance videos. Plus they will get to open for a major national act to be selected by POPS (TBA).

*OTHER BIG NEWS! DRIVIN' RAIN will also be featured on the new City Of Roses CD. The band went into Digital Labs Studio http://digitallabs.com to record the song "2Y2K (Too Young To Kill)". The CD will be called CITY OF ROSES ROCKS 2000 it will showcase over 17 local and regional bands. The first run of the CD will be 500 pieces and they are expected to move very fast! They will be distributed to over 60 locations. It goes on sale October 9th at all music stores that are worth a damn. Or can be bought online at the Digital Labs site www.digitallabs.com.
Local radio REAL ROCK 99.3 will be giving the CD heavy airplay over the next few weeks. You can listen to Real Rock online and even request the song at the stations homepage http://realrock993.com.

* DRIVIN' RAIN will be playing THREE shows October 13th and 14th at this years CITY OF ROSES MUSIC FESTIVAL http://rosecity.net. On Friday the 13th under a full moon on the banks of the Mississippi DRIVIN' RAIN will Headline the Spanish Street Stage. At the corner of Spanish and Themis Streets. They will take the stage at 11:00PM and play till they get dragged off the stage. Over 70 other musical acts will also perform in over 10 venues around the downtown. The stage erected at Spanish and Themis will make use of the natural amphitheater of the Common Please Courthouse lawn. (Where in the past outlaws were hung.) Another stage at the corer of Water and Themis is where DRIVIN' RAIN will play the next day October 14th at 9:00PM. After that the boys pack it up stairs to head line that night at the River City Yacht Club, above the old Port Cape Restaurant. That was once a speakeasy and General Grants office. The boys will storm the stage at the witching hour of midnight.
Two other outside stages will be set up as well for the festival. A under 21 Teen Stage at the SEMO River Campus on Morgan Oak. And a blues stage at the corner of Independence and Main Streets. That will features Blues legend Snooky Pryor and a St. Louis pop band called Just Add Water. Country, Blues, Folk, Rock, Metal, Punk, Jazz, Ska, Contemporary Christian are just some of the genres to be represented at the festival. You will be able to buy armbands to the festival at the gate each night. You will also get a Official City Of Roses Festival Ballot to vote for you favorite COR acts. Try to catch one or all three DRIVIN' RAIN performances. AND the band will have FREE black and white photos to sign after each show.
