Drum Circle Stimulus Package - DrumCircle Finder Updates, Pics & mor   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #617 of 697 |
Hi Drum Chums,

I think we are all feeling the crunch of the economy. Gas keeps going
up and up, along with everything else it seems! Even our grocery
bills somehow jumped up a hundred bucks every 2 weeks. Wha happened?

So I am offering my own drum circle stimulus package. (LoL)
The price of my 2 hour DVD, 101 Drum Circle Rhythms is still $15
shipped anywhere in the USA. If you order a copy from my website
(only) www.drumcircles.net I will include a free drum circle CD along
with your order. It is over 70 minutes of live drum circle jamming.
This special is from now through the end of April. I posted a few
reviews of my DVD below. My hope is, that it will help you to enjoy
drumming more, and you find it a good value for the money. And maybe
even have change left over for a happy meal. Then I can afford one
also.

I've updated my USA & worldwide drum circle finder. If your drum
circle needs an info update, or isn't listed there, please let me
know and I will add it in.

I have lots of great drum circle photos, some free drum circle mp3s,
plus some other fun stuff.

A few comments - reviews of the 101 drum circle rhythms DVD
---------------------------------------------------------------
I would have written you sooner, but really, every spare moment I
have I drum to DVDs! I guess I drum one way or another for 2 - 3
hours a day. Your DVD's/CD are so helpful and fun. Every time I
listen to one of the drum circle sets, I break out into a big smile.
It's just so much fun. I think about drumming, dream about it, hear
it everywhere - a whole new level of being. -- Carol T.

Just wanted to say I watched the DVD and I think it is great. Simple
yet brilliant, very clear in presentation, you can get the hand
movements quite quickly and because you play them, I think you said
it is a minute, which is quite a good amount of time you can really
get a feel for the rhythm. I am really impressed. I have a few other
instructional DVDs I think yours is the most practical and easy to
use I have found. I have also listened to most of the 1st CD and
again I like that it is straightforward and you play the groove
long enough to get a feel for it, and it is clear and precise enough
that you can pick up the rhythm quite quickly. I am looking forward
to having a lot of fun with these. Once again thank you for making
this resource available and at what I consider to be a very good
price, certainly fantastic value for the money. The DVD and CDs are
great quality. -- Ian R.

I received my DVD of 101 Drum Circle Rhythms and I am very pleased
with it. The video quality is excellent and I love being able to
actually see the hands so I don't miss a thing. The sound quality is
excellent too! -- Alex M.

I am impressed at the sheer volume of rhythms that are taught on this
DVD. Anyone wishing to become proficient on hand drums would benefit
from owning this. This is a straight up DVD showing you the hand
patterns for numerous hand percussion rhythms. These rhythms could be
used in any drum circle setting or for just playing along with
friends on musical instruments. I've been a hand percussionist for
many years and there is enough material on this to keep me busy for
at least several months trying to learn and commit to memory the
volume of different rhythms like Mr Ratigan has done. I've owned
several instructional DVD's on hand drumming and this one has by
far the most material and is definitely the best value for the money!
A beginning drummer might find this a bit overwhelming at first, but
this is not intended as a step by step "Learning to Play the Hand
Drum" video. This is a must have for any hand percussionist who
already has a basic understanding of hand drumming techniques OR for
the beginner that can use this for practice after learning the basics
of hand drumming from a 2nd introductory DVD or instructor. I highly
recommend this DVD!!! - Astral H.

As a classical musician (piano and organ) who has always learned by
the academic approach, I have thought that I would love to learn an
instrument using the other side of my brain! I have all sorts of
drums around the house and knew that I wanted a more intuitive, aural
approach to learning as opposed to my Conservatory type of training.
This DVD was perfect for what I was looking for. There are no
explanations about different ways of hitting the drums, no charts or
printed how-to's. Nothing written down at all. Just sit in front of a
great drummer and try to copy what he is doing. Of course, it is
challenging and for a person who wants it slowed down, or notated, or
whatever, this is not the approach for you. But most any DVD player
that I have ever used has an A-B Repeat function. Use that and loop
these rhythms over and over till they become easy. Then go back and
improvise your own rhythms against Mr. Ratigan's playing. I've never
had so much fun, and I think my Mozart on the piano might even be
helped. Hope so! Thanks for a great DVD. - Buddy B.

Thanks,

Shannon
