Description

This is the world's premier discussion list for those interested in historical (pre-Boehm) flutes: renaissance, baroque, classical or romantic instruments. Postings should be related to the history, performance, or making of historical flutes.

If you are applying to join our group, let us know a little about the nature of your interest in early flutes. (To keep out bots and spammers, generic membership requests [e.g. 'I'd like to join your group'] are rejected.)

This is a thriving group of players, students, teachers, makers, and scholars. But it is not a trade venue. Makers who'd like to advertise their work are encouraged to post a link in the appropriate folder on this website; individuals with instruments to sell are asked to try eBay or other commercial sites. Everyone is encouraged to observe the usual civilities.

Welcome to Earlyflute!

Dear Keith and Reynolds McClatchey, Thanks Keith for an easy linking. It would be certain these two pieces are not Joachim Andersen's oeuvres. Such technically
