GARDEN GANG
“SHOPPERS UNITED”

Label: STOMP Records/redwinetunes
Distribution: Rough Trade (Germany)

Garden Gang proudly present their new album, “Shoppers United,” a high
energy glam punk rock feast! Hailing from deepest Bavaria, the band’s
musical influences nevertheless stretch around the world, ranging from
American ‘50’s rock’n’roll, through to the English beat groups of the
‘60’s, and on up to ‘70’s punk and the new wave of the early ‘80s – all
these styles fusing together to create something totally original.

In his satirical English language lyrics, singer PamP tells small stories
of the madness of everyday life in songs such as “Parcel Packer No. 1,”
“Daily Soap Writer,” “Rent A Friend” and “Crash Course.” These songs, as
well as the title track and single “Shoppers United” clearly convey the
thrill and excitement of seeing the band live. The album was recorded in
Munich and released earlier this year in Germany to critical acclaim.

No strangers to the European live circuit, in the last couple of years
Garden Gang have played more than 150 club gigs and festivals in Germany,
Austria, Slovakia, Spain and Switzerland, together with The Vibrators, The
Lurkers, The Damned, as well as with regular touring partner TV Smith from
the Adverts, who also contributes backing vocals to the album. In 2006 they
embark on their first UK tour, playing club dates as well as a mainstage
appearance at the annual Wasted punk festival.

WHAT THE GERMAN PRESS HAVE SAID:

“Courageous ideas and an excellent album…it’s hard to believe that such a
daring mix of styles can sound so good.”
TRIGGERFISH

“Musically, “Shoppers United” is the most highly developed album so far
from this very individual band – individual because Garden Gang are the
rare case of a band that really makes the effort to create their own
style…unlike so many other bands, the lyrics are personal, well thought
through, and really tell a story.”
OX

“Everything about this album is right. The lyrics are contemporary,
personal, and fit with the music to make a fully-rounded whole…this is an
album for everyone.”
VOICE OF CULTURE

“This album from Munich’s Garden Gang turns out to be a refreshingly
complex release. The individual ingredients harmonise perfectly together
and merge into an exciting listening experience. The album works because of
its exceptional flair, that’s what makes it sound so fresh and alive.”
TINNITUS

“With their second CD “Shoppers United,” Garden Gang take their place up
with the best of the punk bands. Fast, hard, no frills, driving… just great!
PamP spreads the message with his expressive and flexible voice.”
BREMEN ANZEIGER

Garden Gang are currently touring to promote their new album “Shoppers
United,” which has been released on their own label Stomp Records, in
partnership with RedWineTunes from Munich. Distributed by Pias/Rough Trade,
Germany and also available through the band’s website.
