Hello people.
A week on Saturday a lot of people are going to be browsing through a load of
books, fair play I say...
http://www.anarchistbookfair.org/
There are plenty of weird and wonderful things to do afterwards...
for one, Eastfield will be punkin' it up at the 12 Bar (flyer will be posted on
www.eastfieldrailpunk.co.uk - which will get you in cheaper).
Saturday 24 October 2009 - LONDON 12 Bar.
Denmark Street, WC2H 8NL. (Tottenham Court Road tube).
London Callin' presents The Disrupters, Eastfield, Monica & the Explosion,
Condition Dead and Nova (late set).

I'm guessing Eastfield will be on around 10pm ish. Both us and the Disrupters
will be finished by midnight to enable folk to get the last tubes or overground
trains from nearby Charing Cross. For those wishing to stay late and stroll off
to nearby Trafalgar Square for some nightbus tomfoolery, the club is open until
a respectable 3pm. There again, you can always snap up your Oyster cards and
walk...big brother is tracking you.

Hello folks.
Sorry for the late notice.
Regretably I'll now not be playing tonight's Belfast show with the Partisans and
Freebooters due to attending a funeral.
Woody from Lancaster was a good friend who was also around a lot when Eastfield
started. He'll be sadly missed
Apologies for any inconvenience caused. The gig is still going ahead with the
other bands and should be a cracker.
I'll still be heading up the road for the Glasgow gig on Sunday which will be
much needed.

...it's actually on all weekend but on Saturday we are playing a small festival
in Derbyshire which will be the diametric opposite of the hell hole that can be
found going on in Reading and Leeds. If you were in any confusion about the
subject line, it is the Reading Festival that the good Reknaw people of Sarf
London have a valid gripe with and not the perusing of literature - for we all
know that libraries and bookshops are wonderful places, as are trains in which
we read the damned things...I have to credit the lovely Rabies Babies with that

Saturday (see below).

This week I'll be sticking my finger in my ear and jumping on the train to the
following East Midlands hot spots. It's all in the name of free music for the

Hello Folks.
Please see below details of the benefit gig happening this Sunday in Bedford.
The bands listed are playing in Danny's bar on the ground level. As part of the
same event there are metal bands playing in the larger room upstairs. I can't
remember whether it's for a wolf or a bat sanctuary as I've been told both. Or
maybe my mind is muddled as I've been reading vampire novels and watching
werewolf and zombie films. Whatever it's all sounding a bit like 'Being Human'
without the lycanthropic semi nudity. The only other thing I haven't been
informed of is the cost on the door but doubt it'll be too much...and it will
all be marvellous. cheers.

Hello Folks.
I was trying to have a weekend putting my feet up and playing with trains but
Nick severely twisted my arm to come and play his show. "Why the hell not?" I
thought, I haven't been up to Lancaster for a few weeks and it's always a
pleasure to visit the Yorkshire House. It would be rather rude not to. So there
you HAVE IT. Marvellous.
Friday 26th June 2009 - LANCASTER Yorkshire House.
Parliament Street.
Dirty Revolution, Jessi Eastfield and the Guilty Pleasures.
9pm - 12.30am. £5.
Dirty Revolution are a four-piece female-fronted reggae ska punk band based in
Cardiff, South Wales. With such songs as “50 Pence” and their anti fascist
number “I Love Reggae” being played on Radio One’s ‘The Lockup’, Dirty
Revolution have enjoyed an ever-growing fanbase. They’ve recently recorded and
released a five-track EP "It's Gonna Get Dirty" on Do the Dog Records. Don't
miss out on their first visit to Lancaster. They are head lining on June 26th at
the much loved Yorkshire House venue (opposite Sainsburys car park). They will
be supported by Lancaster Punk band The Guilty Pleasures and, no stranger to
Lancaster's "diy / direct action" scene, Jessi Eastfield returns to sing a
collection of tracks from his latest CD "Songs From The Scrapyard". Anarchic
politics, good humour and songs about trains guaranteed!! Doors open at 9pm and
it's only a fiver in.
See you there!

We survived the tube strike and had a good one at the 12 Bar. My bus from the
wilds of north London to Euston in the morning wasn't too taxing either. We're
back down the smoke on Saturday. Please excuse the plethora of spam but we've
found ourselves in your fair city 3 times in 9 days. I think afterwards we'll

Hello Folks.
Here is a gentle reminder about the festivities at the Vic in Derby this
Thursday.
Those horrible privatised railway types have messed about with the train times.
Don't they realise we have punk rock gigs to go to? The last train back to
Birmingham is now an awkward 22.45 not 23.07, the Sheffield option is 22.28 or
00.43, Nottingham folk have loads of late options and Leicester people are well
and truly stuffed.
Anyway you don't want to read about railway timetables...you want the gen
regarding the punk rock show, so here goes.
Eastfield and Garden Gang are currently on tour. For this gig we will be
sandwiched by the acoustic powerhorses of Paul Carter and Chris Butler. The two
bands will be doing 45 minute sets at 8.30pm and 9.30pm but we won't decide what
order until the night. We like to keep that bit of suspense. In that case,
surely we should be in an Agatha Christie play not a punk rock concert? To make
amends we could always play pro-celebrity Cluedo in the bar during the
soundcheck...
Thursday 11 June 2009 - DERBY Victoria Inn.
Midland Place (opposite the railway station)
Nappy Rash Collective presents:
Eastfield.
Garden Gang.
Paul Carter.
Chris Butler.
7 - 11pm. £4/£3 concs.
(please note: Garden Gang and Eastfield sets will finish before 10.15pm to
enable people to catch trains.
After that, the lovely Paul Carter will then perform to the hardcore amongst
you).
hope to see you there.
cheers

Hello Folks.
How very fitting that us proponents of public transport should be scuppered by a
48 hour tube strike. Up the workers, I say.
Anyway, the tube is far too expensive since the likes of messers Livingstone and
Johnson got their grubby mitts on it.
So we will rock on without going underground...the 12 Bar is 10 minutes walk
away from Charing Cross station and Trafalgar Square (hub of all things bus and
night bus) and I've walked there from Marylebone, Euston, Kings Cross and
Victoria and we're not talking monopoly here...If we were I'd have bought
houses, hotels, charged you lot loads of rent with or without passing 'go' and
now be lauding it up in the Bahamas instead of playing in some dafty punk rock
band.
Anyhows, I digress...come along tomorrow night, it should be a gurt wheeze...
Wednesday 10 June 2009 - LONDON 12 Bar.
12 Denmark Street, WC2 (off Charing Cross Road).
Garden Gang, Eastfield, Armed Response Unit and Retcher.
7.30pm. £5.
(Eastfield on approx 10pm. Garden Gang on approx 11pm).

Hello Folks.
The new CD ‘Songs from the Scrapyard’ is now available. This is the much
threatened ‘solo’ album which people have been pestering me to do for a while
now. Under the guise of ‘Eastfield Derailed’ it occupies the ground between a
more acoustic album and an Eastfield full band album. The rationale behind it
follows that every Eastfield song starts off as a ‘sketch’ which is deliberately
kept as basic as possible. This time around these sketches have been embellished
by collaboration and recorded over time. We are happy enough to unleash the
results upon the unsuspecting public, so please feel free to order a copy for
the obligatory £5 from:
EASTFIELD, c/o THE BASEMENT, 78A PENNY STREET, LANCASTER LA1 1XN. uk.
(cheques payable to 'A. Adams'). (europe E7, usa $10). Cheers.
For track-listing (see below). Other releases, t-shirts etc please see

eastfield derailed - songs from the scrapyard
tracklist:
pedigree scum
It hadn’t been the best of weekends. To confound matters the British Transport
Police were out in force to intercept imaginary gangs at Clapham Junction.
Frustrated and empty-handed they decided on the age-old trick of deliberately
walking their sniffer dog into the ‘crusty’.
hucknall! get out of my car!
Stuck on the outskirts of Lyon, soaked to the skin with no food or sleep was the
low point of hitching from Munich to Barcelona. The sun eventually came out and
we gladly accepted a lift to Montpelier. Everything was truly marvellous until
the driver drew comparisons between his dreadlocked passenger and a well-known
pop singer.
sky burial at warton crag
A desolate place where wild birds constantly circle the rock face scouring for
prey. When twitchers die they offer their bodies upon the summit keeping things
cyclical to perpetuate their hobby. The ultimate in ornithological recycling.
jumping under someone else’s train
It’s been commented that sadness on hearing announcements of a body under a tube
train has been superseded by the deeper sadness of desensitisation that these
announcements are becoming so common place that they are accepted as part of
everyday occurrence. That’s a lot of messed up lives and a lot of messed up
drivers.
get a grip
Modern train tickets conveniently have a nice shiny surface whereupon stamps can
be rubbed out until for all purposes they look like a fresh ticket that can be
reused. On one such occasion a conductor was totally oblivious to this trickery
but tried to state the ticket wasn’t valid at that particular time of day. It
bloody well was. He got so incensed by a superior knowledge of ticket pricing
that he ripped the ticket up. Don’t you just hate it when officious arseholes
don’t know their jobs properly? Luckily these pockets contained an equally bent
ticket to get forward to the chosen destination. Ha.
jeremy’s dream
A friend used to work with a curious band called ‘Wizards of Wonderland’. I used
to tell people that the bass player played naked eating chips. He didn’t, but it
made them seem a bit more interesting. I often wonder what that bass player is
doing now.
cigarettes and tourettes
We’ve all had those infuriating conversations when we ask a friend how they’re
doing and instead they just harp on about what ‘great’ things their band is
doing or is going to do. Before I beat you around the head with a blunt
instrument I would like you to know that I think all bands are crap. I never
liked them and I never will.
god’s plastic railway
Things don’t get better. god’s Wonderful Railway has persistently devolved into
a soulless, cheaper, plastic imitation. If god was omnipotent, he’d have done
something about it
keep on tracking the train
The world has gone information crazy where even a simple thing like buying a
train ticket can leave people open to data abuse and a subsequent sinister use
of keeping tabs on the movements of the population. You have a right to be
paranoid.
money money money money
For all those deluded souls that put money before the more important things in
life.

Hello folks.
I'm trying to be efficient and give as much notice of impending gigs as is
humanly possible.
We have the lovely Garden Gang from Munich over again at the end of May/early
June.
It would be rude not to play the equally lovely Junction before it closes. So
please spread the word, come along and drink Bobs beer, buy his second hand CDs,
dodge the barrage of bog rolls being thrown from the stage by Hacksaw, dance or
whatever takes your fancy. marvellous. Cheers.....

Hello Folks.
Eastfield will be alighting at various areas of London over the next few
weeks...east, south and north but never west...unless you count the west
end...now there's a curious thing. We could categorise it via former British
Rail regions or tube routes but that would just be plain silly...or would it?
Deptford has never been on the tube route but is served via 'electrostars' from
London Bridge and the like. Have it!
Anyway, I digress. Feel free to come to a gig or five. Laters, jessi x
