RE: [Electone Club International] EL25

Malc,
Since no one else
I have played an EL7 and EL10 and I own an EL90 so I am "interoplating" as
to how I think the EL25 may sound. Personally I think before buying any
organ one should try and play it to see if the sounds are to your taste. You
can also download the user manual from

http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/index.php

which will give you a better idea of how it works.

The EL25 is towards the bottom of the range but it does have the ability to
create draw bar sounds, and a Lesley effect so I guess it can create a wide
range of "electronic" organ sounds. However from the user guide it appears
that changing the settings whilst playing would be virtually impossible (its
hard enough on the EL90 which has one up/down button per drawer bar) and as
it has only four preset registration memories, getting a good range of
sounds into a single piece would be challenging.

There is also no disk drive to save your settings on, so you would either
need a computer and midi librarian, or an MDR3 external drive if you wanted
to save your registration settings

I can't comment on the amp/speakers, as whilst the EL10 always sounded thin
and tinny (even compared to my old HE8) my EL90 is really excellent. There
again it has a five way 200watt system!

Hope this helps,

Dave

sounds and a leslie effect on board.
Thanks, Malc.
