Hello Ron,
i've had an EL-90 and then an El-900, and now ...
the .B00 file contains all the registration data: settings for each
registration, drum patterns and sequences.
The .EVT program is an ESEQ program, very close to a midi program. I don't
really know but i'm almost sure that if you rename a.evt program to .mid
you'll succeed in importing the file into Cubase and play it.
i have a tyros2 and it recognizes the .evt files as mid files and plays
them, but with no registration change.
there is also a program called eseq2mid which converts the evt - but always
without registration data.
and a program called evt2mid which i didn't test but some people tried to
use it and seemed to have problems.
For the registration changes : on El-90 and El-900 these are midi
configurable by sysex messages. if you succeed in making the .evt file to be
played with a sequencer as cubase you've just to include the sysex messages
at the right measure point in the file.
One point : before you change the registration you have to load the
registration settings to the electone. To play absolutely without the mdr
you've to store the settings data (.b00) first in the computer.
Theoretically you can try first to record your electone when changing the
regs and store it into the computer, but to be honest i never did that so i
don't know if it works.
I'm not sure it will help you but at least you've got some tips to try
things ...for the end i wish to tell you that US-1 is a great and beautiful
instrument. I'm sure that a lot of people playing on El-7 to 28 would be
happy to have one. And the sounds will never be obsolete,
best wishes,
josette
On the El-90 and EL-900 the registration data can be easily converted to sys
