Would the ELX1 be a good jump from the HX-1? If I could even find one....were these imported to the US?

To be honest, I have no idea. I have only heard them on one or two occasions, once when they were "new" and Max Takana and some other Yamaha demonstrators...

Tommy, Did you look at the link for the tower ballroom. Its a huge (by most UK standards) auditorium. I think to fill it cleanly and nicely with electronics...
