Re: [Electone Talk] Re: Need info/help for sick FX-20
Thanks Bill!!! And looking for 2 cm diameter also might make finding
something a bit easier. I was wondering, did you ever try just regular
"O" Rings? Although, I sort of have a feeling they might spin off the
pulley without the right groove in the pulley.
Thanks,
Duane

I got a bunch of them in Toronto, in
fact, I had all their stock in that size. They probably thought I was
a maniac.
On the web should be possible also.
2 cm dia works too.

[Electone Talk] Re: Need info/help for sick FX-20
Hi Bill,
I have been searching and searching for these belts that fit the
sliders on the FX-20 you mentioned, but I'll be darn if I can find
them anyplace. "Replacement belts can be found at cassette recorder
spares stores. you need belts 1.9 cm in diameter (they are about 1 mm
square rubber)." Where did you get yours? Thanks for any help in
locating some.
Duane

the belts are stretched, and/or the motor brushes are dirty. I had to
replace all of the belts, and disassemble and clean all of the motors
on my FS-500. do not assume because they are all faulty, it must be
whatever drives them, all it needs is for someone to spray switch
cleaner in the slider slots, and your belts will slip, and stretch.

troubleshooting the problem on my FX-20. It appears I need both the
YM21140 and YM21210 IC's. After calling Yamaha here in the U.S. they
said they no longer stock these items. They sold their remaining
inventory to another company a few years ago. I called that company
and they don't have the parts either.
