Re: [Electone Talk] Help on Electone FS30

Dieter,

If you've not yet also posted your question to
The Organ Forum you might want to try there
too in addition to this group.

I just did a search string "yamaha fs-30" over
there and noticed a lot of results to my search,
but did not look at the details of the search, just
looked to see the number of hits. I also believe
the fs-30 uses a slider/belt arrangement for the
stops.  Several of us just collaborated on a paper
on how to repair these.  To see it, just do a search
"yamaha fs-30 belt" on The Organ Forum.

Hi Folks,

I am new to the group. I just purchased a FS30 with a problem. The organ appears to function correctly but produces a low volume distorted sound only. When I opened the back I found a blown capacitor mounted on a small vertical board in the very left bottom corner of the organ in front of a transformer. I replaced all 3 capacitors on this board but the problem remains. The same distorted sound comes through headphones as well. If I connect my Leslie 705, the rotor speed control functions but no sound is coming through the Leslie. It appears to me that this may be a pre-amp or expression pedal board problem. Any ideas? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Skippy

Sound like it could be the expression Pedal, I don't know anything about pre-amps. I had an FS-30 and had a problem with the expression pedal, the resistor...

It was 30 years ago, so I can't remember a lot of the details but I think there is a resistor at the point where the expression pedal mechanism slots into the...
