Belt Belts Replacement Guide Yamaha Electone Model - C-34 FS-300 FX-10 D-500 FS-30M FX-20 FS-100 FS-50 FX-3 FS-20 FS-500 FS-200 FS-70 FS-30 FX-1 MANY MODELS MID-80's

We have just placed an instructional document on "Google Docs" as referenced further on to help anyone interested in replacing the slider/motor belts on the Yamaha Electones made in the mid-80's.  Many of these are grand instruments and several of us have provided information on this process.  Credits to individuals are provided within the document, I was just one of four.

There is a bit of caveat needed here...  The modeling for this document was based on the FS-500, but the knowledge should be transferable to a number of models of Yamaha Electones.  We can not guarantee anything for each specific case other than to provide what we think are some helpful hints, photos and information.  And just as a caution, as you would expect, some of this can get down right tedious...  patience is a virtue!  And needless to say be sure all power is disconnected and prudent safety precautions are followed.

Generally, but not inclusive, this document should apply to the following models.  In pursuing the Electone Museum  http://www.electone.com/museum/  information we have provided in the document appears applicable in some form to at least 1983 Models:  C-34 FS-300 FX-10 D-500 FS-30M FX-20 FS-100 FS-50 FX-3 FS-20 FS-500 FS-200 FS-70 FS-30 FX-1  There may be more than this list or less.  It does appear, however, that this slider/motor scheme was used on a number of Electones of that period.  You'll need to decide, of course, for your specific case.

Our goal was to make this information easily available in hopes of saving more Electone organs and helping people with the task of replacing the slider/motor belts if needed and wanted.

http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dhqttfsk_0fhqbckg2

We all hope someone or several find this information helpful and one more Yamaha Electone gets saved.

Duane
