This procedure requires considerable manual dexterity and is rather detailed.
For replacement of the belts, but not actually servicing the motors internally, see our earlier collaborative document by several of us http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dhqttfsk_0fhqbckg2
The modeling for the Motor Servicing Procedure was based on the Yamaha Electone FS-500, but the knowledge should be transferable to a number of models of Yamaha Electones. Nothing can be guaranteed for each specific case other than to provide helpful procedures, hints, photos and information. And just as a caution, as you would expect, some of this can get down right tedious... patience is a virtue! And needless to say be sure all power is disconnected and prudent safety precautions are followed.
Generally, but not inclusive, this document should apply to the following models. In pursuing the Electone Museum http://www.electone.com/museum/ information provided in this document appears applicable in some form to at least 1983 Models: C-34 FS-300 FX-10 D-500 FS-30M FX-20 FS-100 FS-50 FX-3 FS-20 FS-500 FS-200 FS-70 FS-30 FX-1 There may be more than this list or less. It does appear, however, that this slider/motor scheme was used on a number of Electones of that period. You'll need to decide, of course, for your specific case.
We all hope someone or several find this information helpful and one more Yamaha Electone gets saved.
