Hi all,
recently, Rizal, a member of silentt, contacted me. Silentt is
organising a gig in August and has invited EML to have a booth to
showcase what EML is doing and also educating the public on
electronic music.
More of Silentt can be found at http://www.myspace.com/slntt
The gig will be on the 25th aug. The gig will be held in Home Club
and the main act is performed by a duo named Dyko(Germany). Other
acts include local electronic music artistes. I feel that this is a
good opportunity to showcase EML to the public and promote ourselves.
What EML can do is to:
1. Have a short workshop to inform the public on how we create our
music just before our gig(warm up set or opening of the main act).OR,
2. Have the workshop a day before the performance. OR,
3. Have the workshop a day after the performance. OR,
4. Open to any suggestions.
Once again, the doing of the performance is open to all (commitee
members, EML alumni, NUS students, other tertiary sch students,
public.) who shown keen interest in promoting electronic music. :)
Those not interested in performing can also help out in logistics and
publicity.
Personally, I feel that option no.1 is a viable one because after
going through how we create music, the performance is a great way to
showcase the music immediately without the need to wait for next day.
If you have other suggestions, pls do post them here. I need the
reply ASAP (try by sunday) as we need to get the planning going.
Thanks.
