The body, the word and the machine:
V.I.S.T.A Lab 2.0 is an installation/performance that meditates on time and our ability/inability to comprehend history. Picture yourselves, the audience, as the entirety of mankind, we your twinkling satellites and stars. Measure the course of an hour by our progress and digression.
Building on the diverse talents of our artists, the stage has now become a solar system, a radar field, a clock, a Möbius timeline filled with light and sound and static, no, dynamic bodies. Caught in motion, we are constantly listening for interference: unwanted buzz, collisions of data, the creation of new wave patterns therefrom.
The historian is sleeping; we may thence avoid his rhetoric. Stranger, wanderer, android: we evolve/devolve/revolve, cycle through the ages. We perform instead the sacred calendar. Surrender, mortal: embrace the very noise of time.
