“I don’t know what I said to disturb him, but whatever I said, I’d say again.” -- CHRISTINA AGUILERA, on Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady.”

POLICE CALL FOR SPRINGSTEEN BOYCOTT IN WAKE OF “DIALLO” SONG

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’s new song, “American Skin (41 Shots),” which alludes to the February 1999 shooting death of AMADOU DIALLO by New York policemen, has sparked a boycott by the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association of the City of New York and the New York Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. Calling the song an “outrage” for “reopening the wounds of this tragic case,” PBA president Patrick Lynch urged members and delegates not to work at or attend any of Springsteen’s ten sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden, which began last night. Springsteen’s camp did not return calls by press time.

EMINEM HIT WITH CIVIL SUIT IN CLUB FRACAS

In addition to felony charges of assault and carrying a concealed weapon, EMINEM now faces a civil suit from the man he allegedly hit in the head with a pistol during a June 3 club scuffle in Warren, Mich. John Guerra, twenty-six, filed the suit on Friday, seeking undisclosed damages from the rapper and telling Rolling Stone that the attack “was the scariest moment of my life.” Eminem’s attorney, Howard Hertz, declined to comment on the lawsuit, but noted that the criminal charges against his client would be “resolved favourably.”

RADIOHEAD SESSIONS YIELD TWO NEW ALBUMS

RADIOHEAD are planning to release two albums culled from the material they just recorded with producer NIGEL GODRICH. The first, which will have about ten to eleven tracks, is expected to come out on schedule this fall, followed by a second a year later. Song titles include “How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found,” “Kid A,” “Everything in Its Right Place,” “Idioteque” and “Nothing to Fear (Egyptian Song).” Two tracks feature an extensive string section, one track includes backing by a jazz band and another has THOM YORKE singing backwards.

CELINE DION BEATS TABLOIDS TO PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

After suing the “National Enquirer” for $20 million last February for reporting that she was pregnant with twins, CELINE DION released a statement on Friday proclaiming that she is expecting a baby. “This time it’s for real—I’m pregnant . . . We just found out,” said Dion. She also revealed that recent tests have shown that RENE ANGELIL, who had surgery last year to remove a potentially cancerous lump on his throat, does not have cancer.
