Before I say anything, let me clarify that I am an educated Black woman from a
family of hard working Black people who've instilled in me a proper perspective
on equality and accountability.
This is regarding those Black firefighters who want the standardized test for
qualifying as a commander to be eliminated due to their "inability" to pass the
test.
To eliminate the test is to say that Black men are so inferior that they can not
be expected to study for the test, as their white co-workers did, and therefore
can not be expected to pass the test. This is wrong on so many levels. It's
lowering the standard to accommodate a people of a skin color who, quite
deliberately, avoided their responsibility to study in order to qualify.
If this is allowed to pass, I'd never want to live in an area serviced by a fire
station commanded by a Black person due to the lower standard they were adhered
to...I'd expect my home to burn down should it catch fire.
Didn't we learn our lesson, already, by making 911 operators out of unqualified
Black women due to their skin color? How many people must be endangered and/or
DIE due to this erroneous practice that's becoming all too common? Are we to
reward the weakminded Black people for not applying the same self-discipline
expected of white people? Aren't we already allowing weakminded Black people to
run amuck, saying the N word while infringing on the civil rights of white
people they expect to refrain from speaking it? Whoopi Goldberg is one of those
weakminded people I refer to, she showed us, when she rationalized that she'd
use the word yet expect white people not to use it because "Black people are
taking the word back"...What a simple, ghetto minded way to see something.
We're becoming a nation of coddle the weaklinks. People like OJ and R Kelly are
allowed to commit horrendous crimes against white people and walk free. Rodney
King is idolized for being a junkie that got his ass beat for being a junkie,
NOT for being Black <> There's more footage of white junkies being beat-down by
cops for less than what he did, which was endanger the lives of innocent
citizens everywhere around him with behavior that earned him an ass kicking. Had
he ran over some Black people while fleeing and eluding police, totally
zoned-out on crack, I wonder how many would've been ghetto enough to riot and
"speak-out" then? Take that, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, major contributors
to the problem and the further leading of our people who'll listen to you down
an uneducated path and way of thinking. The next time someone's brought to one
of you to apologize for using the N word, make sure that person is Black,
because you've already proven to the educated of us what you stand for, which is
lower standards for Blacks, making us inferior due to those standards.
We already have planes falling from the sky due to our Affirmative Action laws
that keep qualified white men off of aero assembly lines so that slots can be
filled by UNqualified Blacks and other minorities. Until we fix this, it's
becoming more dangerous to fly with every minute that passes.
I have faith that, if a Black man would STUDY for that test, like the white men
who passed it did, they WOULD pass the test...To expect otherwise, or to make
other accommodations, would be to admit that Black men ARE too inferior to be
expected to apply the self-discipline to study for something. If that be the
case, then they should not be allowed to be commanders, which is a
responsibility beyond their inferior capabilities, like studying for a test.
