This was an e-mail that our mom sent to FlyLady today. I had no idea
she sent it and had no idea what she said until Marla posted to her
group. I wanted you all to get the message as well since many of you
are not members of FlyLady.net (yet).

Marla and FlyBabies,

I have had a full heart for a few days and wanted to share with you
and your FlyBabies. When Eric was "dreaming" of doing this Christmas
CD late summer I was not really as excited about it as I should have
been.

I knew that he had not recovered the costs of his other two CD's and
would be really pushing it to make this one but he really felt that he
wanted to do this "gift" for others. He has always been a Christmas
lover and wanted to share his feelings of the season with you. So as
you know he pushed onward with great stress in my heart but never in his.

This week thanks to your orders and love, Eric's costs have been met
on all three CD's. He never dreamed of the response that he received.
So I want to thank you all for loving my family and giving Eric a
wonderful Christmas Gift.

As I looked at the orders placed this morning my heart was so touched
as I knew that you were ordering with the knowledge that they might
not get there for Christmas day. I wish I could deliver each one
personally so I knew you had them. They will be sent out today first
class but I can't control what happens after that.

I would like to let you know how much fun we have had in working on
these orders as we have all had a hand in it. (We have even adopted
Darlene the postal worker who stamps most of our orders) We will read
your addresses and wonder about where you live. We have wondered about
the street names and if there is really a bright red bush on Burning
Bush Drive, are there really pelicans on pelican court, what about
black bear trail (yes the Post Office told me a trail is a proper
address and is usually an unpaved road.)

I have traveled the world this past two months as I have been putting
a little of my thoughts into each address. I have been to Japan,
Germany, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, Greenland, Hawaii and so
many more. Well I could go on and on but words are not enough to
express the thanks and love we feel for you. Thank you so much and
Have a wonderful Holiday Season.

FlyLady here: Every day I have talked with Eric! He has been so
excited about all the places his CDs are going. Every evening the
family gets together and Eric autographs while the orders are being
packed. You all have given them the best gift of all! Your Love!

If you have not gotten your CDs yet; get them now!

Hey Everyone, Christmas is almost here. So we had a very successful
fund raiser for Brandon thanks to all of you. Brandon had so much fun
and it sounds like he is doing very well with all of his treatments.
Thank you all.
OK I am sending you this e-mail today instead of Tuesday because
this week is going to be hectic. I don't know when or where I will
have internet service to write to you all. I just wanted to let you
know that we are down to 400 Christmas CD's total in stock. You have
all been so good to me. It makes me happy that you wanted this cd as
bad as I wanted to make it. I didn't know it would go over this well
when I made it and so thank you for helping us continue making music
for you. It has been so fun to help my mother process the orders and
we are really good friends now with our postal lady at the post
office. She is really nice and loves seeing where all these cd's are
going just like we do. We are not going to be able to reorder this
season so if you are wanting one, please get it ordered right away. I
can still get them to you before Christmas. I will do everything in
my power to ship them asap as soon as you order. If you don't like
using a credit card on the internet we have options. Just e-mail me
and I can help you out. ericdodge@... . I will still
autograph all of the cd's until Wednesday night 5 days from now.
http://budurl.com/FLYED
Thank you again.
Also please mark you calendars for New Years eve. The Band and I are
going to be doing a New years concert in Logan, UT. It will be at the
tabernacle at 8pm and Amy Lacey will be there. We are going to sing
some songs from the CD, Up Kind Of Day I think.

Hey there, Ok so we only have 12 more days to get you autographed
cd's sent to you. Christmas is approaching fast and I would love for
you to be able to enjoy this music before Christmas.
http://budurl.com/FLYED

Next is Needles California, Here we come. We are headed out right now
to California. Tonight we will be playing and acoustic set at Juicy's
cafe at 6pm. Tomorrow is the big show just before Santa's light
parade. We will play downtown from 2pm to 4pm. I know some of you
are from Needles so come say hi to us.

And another (can you tell I was up all night thinking lol) There is a
web-site called Pandora. I have been told recently that our music is
on Pandora. It is a completely free program you put on your computer
or iphone and you can make your own radio station. They are saying
that the more popular an artist is on Pandora the better for the
artist. So if you have Pandora or are interested please add our name
to your playlist of artists to put in the rotation. Here is the
web-site http://www.pandora.com

And lastly, The benefit concert for Brandon here in Southern Utah is
approaching very fast. Marla sent a really nice e-mail out for him
last week. It is quite long but I am going to attach it in case you
want more info. He needs all the help we can get him. Maybe we can do
a live feed for Blogtalk that night. Who knows.

----------------------------------------

Dear Friends,

A few weeks ago Eric heard about a benefit that was looking for people
to sing; He called them up to volunteer. Eric doesn't know I am going
to tell the world about what he is doing.

Today I got this message from Eric about a Special Concert he is doing
for a young man in his community of St. George, Utah. During this
holiday season it is as more fun to give than it is to receive. Eric
is doing his part to help others. He is setting an example for all of us!

Eric, I am very proud of you for all you do to help those in need!

If you live in the St. George area please attend to support this family.

FlyLady

Here is a link to Brandon's Website:

FlyLady here: No one asked me to pass this information on; I just felt
that it was something that I needed to do.

**There is also a fund set up at Southwest Federal Credit Union -
(435) 635-4429 - for Brandon, you just have to tell them you want to
donate to Brandon Hammett....the account is under Jessica Hammett.

Dear Friends:

I'd like to invite you to a special concert for a very special kid and
a terrific family. There is so much need in our community and so many
worthy causes, but I'd personally appreciate you taking the time to
look this over and attend a benefit concert for Brandon Hammett..
Brandon is the 14 year old son of Chad and Jesse Hammett and the
oldest of 5 children. Brandon was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma,
bone cancer, in August of this year and his Father, Chad, lost his job
about a month after Brandon's diagnosis. They have to travel to Salt
Lake City for Chemotherapy treatments every other week and stay for a
week in the hospital. Obviously, their expenses are skyrocketing.

Several people in the community are getting together to help them with
their medical expenses and a benefit concert is scheduled in which
every penny will go to the family. It is such a tough trial this
family is facing and even more heartbreaking at this time of year.

Following is information on the concert, more about Chad with photos
and a biographical sketch and photo about the performing artist, Eric
Dodge, who also is donating his talent for this show. I've also
included this in a word document. Thank you so much for your help.

Brandon's Christmas Benefit Concert
December 10th, 7pm at the Cox Auditorium.
Featuring
Eric Dodge in concert with
Sunset Express and other local talent
There will be a raffle for local gift cards and
sales of Christmas goodies in the lobby.
Suggestion donation: $5 per person or $20 Family
The family would appreciate your generous gifts.

A little about Brandon and a biographical sketch of Eric Dodge

Our son, Brandon, is faced with the most difficult challenge he has
ever had to face - fighting cancer. After finding out that the pains
in Brandon's leg were more than normal growing pains, we found
ourselves helping Brandon through tests and scans at the hospital to
find out that he has "Ewings Sarcoma Cancer", a type of bone cancer,
in his left leg.

We are now spending a lot of time at Primary Children's Hospital in
Salt Lake City for chemotherapy. We'll be going chemotherapy through
about May of 2009, and we're hoping everyone will join us in praying
for him to make a full recovery.

Brandon will be going through about three months of chemotherapy
before the surgeon removes the tumor from his leg. As a parent, caring
about my son, my firsts thoughts were, "Get that tumor out of him
now!" - but the doctors clarified and made me understand that they
leave the tumor in during the first part of chemotherapy to prove that
the cancer is responding to the therapy by shrinking and dying. This
way they know that the tiny particles that may be floating around in
his system are dying as well.

Brandon just recently finished up his 5th round of chemotherapy. He's
handling it as well as any kid can. It's miserable and he hates it,
but he's keeping a good attitude about it all. He's doing everything
the nurses & doctors are asking of him, he's letting us give him his
shot and medicine every day at home. He's also trying to salvage his
8th grade year by doing some schooling online. We're wishing he had an
Apple Laptop so he could do his schoolwork from bed, because he
doesn't always feel like getting out of bed.For the boy that has
hardly been to a doctor for anything in his life, Brandon has now been
through all types of blood tests, scans, pokes, and even 2 surgeries.
A hard part was the biopsy on his leg. The surgeon went in, took a
sliver, looked at a "frozen section" of the material they pulled out
and decided it was Ewings Sarcoma. Three days later, Pathology
confirmed this initial suspicion.

After a full body Bone Scan, the doctors spotted a lump on Brandon's
lung. After a few days, they decided it would be best to remove this
lump. Before the surgery, the surgical team went through the process
of marking the spot with a blue dye. This procedure is performed by
putting a thin needle through the chest, into the lung, into the mass,
and injecting blue dye (mixed with his own blood) into the site that
needs to be removed by the lung surgeon. This was so hard for Brandon.
The light sedation they put him under was a medication that causes
hallucinations. Brandon woke up telling me about terrible dreams he
had while sedated. He was very upset about it. Comforting him after
that took some time.

Eric Dodge discovered his passion for singing in the most heartfelt of
ways. While always having a strong love for music, his greatest fear
was to share that passion publicly. On September 11th, 2001, as our
great country suffered a terrorist attack, Eric was on a cruise ship
outside of Mexico. That fateful day was when Eric made his decision to
no longer be afraid. He stepped up to the microphone aboard the ship
to share his voice and love of music. He was no longer willing to let
his fear keep him from what was truly his gift to the world. He opened
up his heart and sang Garth Brooks' song "The Dance". After his moving
performance, a passenger approached him to let him know how much she
had loved the song. She encouraged him to pursue a singing career.
Just as many others were changed by the events of 9/11, Eric took her
words to heart and decided to follow his heart into the world of
country music.

Eric Dodge in Concert
Eric has worked with Seth Riggs, vocal coach to the Stars in Hollywood
and from there was sent to train with Jeffrey Skouson in Las Vegas.
Thanks to these great coaches, Eric began sharing his talents
professionally in 2003 and hasn't stopped. He's performed hundreds of
shows all over the United States and Canada. He's shared the stage
with many of Nashville's finest country music stars including: the
late Chris Ledoux, Diamond Rio, Little Texas,Collin Raye, Shedaisy,
and many other talented artists. In 2004, Eric was awarded the honor
of being named the Southern Utah winner of the Colgate Country Showdown.

Eric has recorded both of his albums at OmniSound Studios in
Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked with the best producers,
songwriters, and musicians possible. In March of 2006, his first radio
single, "Anything for You" was released and hit #19 on the New Music
Weekly-Independent Artists chart. Eric has been featured in America's
largest country music magazine, "Country Weekly" and on the popular
website, Music News.

Brenda

FlyLady here; I got excited and sent it to Eric. He ran out and
bought
one! Tim McGraw is on the cover of the December 15 issue.

Here is what Eric said.

I just picked up the new Country Weekly. There is a "Sounds of the
Season" section and there is a list of about 10 cd's they recommend.
Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and a few others and A Christmas
Wish, Eric Dodge. Then it says this Utah Native tackles 10 holiday
songs. It is very cool. Those guys are so good to me and trying to
help in their own way aren't they.

Eric

FlyLady here: They are nice people at Country Weekly. I asked Eric if
they had a copy of their new Christmas Wish CD and Eric said he had
sent them a couple. I think they liked it. I would like to Thank
Chris Neal and Larry Holden for all the support they have given Eric
and me! I may have to send them a copy of our new Children's CD.

http://budurl.com/CountryWeekly

Eric is signing every CD till midnight mountain time December 17th.

Get yours while they last.

http://budurl.com/EDYTCS

This weekend Eric was the MC at a talent contest at the Aladdin
theater in Parowan, Utah. It is one of his favorite events and gets
him into the Christmas spirit. There was a parade too. They called
it;
Have a Holly Jolly Christmas in the Country.

There was a Kids Talent show on Friday night; Eric heard a young boy
sing and he asked if he could learn a song to sing on Saturday night.
Eric said, He was so cool, and so nervous. Someone made a video and
Eric has put it up on You Tube. Get out your hankies and watch Eric
and Trevor sing Christmas Shoes from Eric's holiday CD, A Christmas
Wish.

people and it was very intense. We kept it together and did our best and ended
up having a
lot of fun. We booked some shows off of the event and will narrow down which
ones we can
do. We will keep you posted. Also we welcome any help you can all give us in
getting more
concerts and getting to your area of the world. Ok so we are giving the guitar
away just after
Thanksgiving. You need to be a member of our group to win and you need to send
an e-
mail to management@.... In the subject line put guitar and that is
all we need.
We will then take all the names and do a random drawing. So you can send an
e-mail at
anytime.

Also the Christmas CD's have been going fast. We want to make sure we get them
out before
Christmas.
Here is the link to our store.

Talk to you all soon.

Hi friends, I have been asked recently to explain what this new Christmas CD
means to me
and why did we make and album that is different than our Country Albums you have
all
heard. Christmas is my favorite time of year, that is no secret. It is such a
peaceful,
magical time when it seems like everyone gets along just a little bit better
than usual.
Everyone is giving and everyone is caring, I just love this. I love everything
about
Christmas except the commercialized part of Christmas that the big stores and
wal-street
are always trying to remind us of. I have always loved the inspirational
Christmas music
that really helps me get in the Christmas Spirit. I have attempted several times
to create a
Christmas CD that I felt helped to bring the Christmas spirit into our homes
without
reminding us of the financial burdens that the Christmas season can put on us
all. All the
other Christmas CD's I made I just wasn't happy with. I was so happy when this
Christmas
CD finally fell into place I couldn't wait to get it out to you all. I am
saddened when people
try to say we can't call it "Christmas" it has to be called "Holiday", so we
don't offend
anyone. I am also saddened when they try to stop playing all my favorite
traditional
Christmas songs because they are not politically correct anymore. This CD was
put
together with nothing but the true meaning of Christmas on my mind and in my
heart. I
wanted to try and preserve what I think Christmas is all about through music.
This cd is
not the Country Music you are used to hearing from me, but a traditional
Christmas music
cd, with strings, and grand pianos, with a Jazz music feel that all your family
can listen to
and love. I put this together with all of what I stand for and all of what I
hope the world
fights to keep in all of our lives. I hope that you will all take a minute to
e-mail me and
let me know what your thoughts are on this new cd, and please tell me how it has
helped
to bring peace to you and your family during this trying time in all of our
lives. I would
love to hear from you, ericdodge@...

Thank you
Eric

I have done everything I can to make all our music as affordable as possible.
Please take a
minute to check it out today.

Well here we are, another Tuesday. I was camping over the weekend
up at the ranch and it was so cold over night. It was 12 degrees
(F). It was so much fun though I really love it up there. There
was some snow on the mountain and it was very much like last year
when I took the picture for the back cover of the new Christmas CD.
If you already have a copy you can look at the back of the cd and
see what I was looking at Saturday morning from the front porch of
the old cabin. We took the four wheelers out and beat my truck up on
some really rough roads. I wan't to thank you all for supporting
this Christmas CD like you have. Thanks to you and Thanks to Marla
for telling the world about it, we are getting cd's out all over the
place. We put everything we had into getting this cd out. It is
everything I ever wanted in a Christmas music album. I loved
Christine's e-mail to Flylady. She had stated that she was surprised
at how low the pricing was. We are keeping the prices very low this
year due to the bad economy. I especially want to thank those of you
who have been getting them for Christmas presents for your Friends
and family. Here is the link if you still need to get your copies
ordered.

Also we have a special Christmas show this Saturday morning I will
tell you about later this week.
Then on Friday don't miss our local corn maze concert. You can get
the info and ticket prices on our web-site.
Thank you again
