put the membership on 'restricted', and when you get a request to join, you can
usually tell by their e-mail address that they're up to no good. I go to the
site, put them on 'moderated', THEN approve their membership.

Sorry to clutter the forum with MY problems but;
How do you deal with the ones that Join, post their crap, then unsubscribe
before you have a chance to put them on moderated status? ( I run several other
forums too and that is what I hate most! )

As group owner of Hammond Zone I know what a pain these spammers can
be. One of our moderators suggested placing new members
on 'moderated' for their first few posts so we know they are not
spammers or troublemakers. This seems to work great.
