For the first set this thursday at luggage store, we're having an
"open jam". Ad-hoc avant-garde improv hoedown is a set where anyone
who wants to improvise experimental music (except for jerks) is
welcome to show up with their gear, plug in, and improvise with
whoever else shows up. All instruments are welcome. RSVPing with Matt
Davignon (mattdavignon@...) is appreciated but not mandatory.

All instruments/experience levels welcome, but must be some sort of
experimental/avant-garde music. RSVPing with me is appreciated
(mattdavignon@... - I don't get the sbcglobal email anymore),
but not mandatory.

We have a PA, but for this sort of thing if bringing an amp is
convenient, it usually makes for better sound.

2) About that radio playlist message

I let that radio playlist message go through because they accept cd
submissions from experimental musicians. If you're interested in
getting some airplay in Europe, please follow the directions in that
email.

I can't let the "playlist" messages go through every week, since I'm
trying to keep this list from getting repetitive messages.

3) Weird music & Board Games

I run another group for weird-music fans who like to meet for board &
card games in SF & the East Bay. The games run the range from things
like Scrabble, to Apples to Apples, to German games like Settlers of
Catan. We rarely play the same games 2 weeks in a row. We try to meet
on Sunday evenings so far, when not trumped by other events.

4) Anyone else want to co-moderate?

I admit I've been terrible in keeping up with this list (mostly
because it doesn't send me reminders to my gmail account). Does anyone
else want to co-moderate with me? Unlike most mailing lists, this one
is ONLY for invitation announcements, and specifically for
experimental/avant-garde music. So moderating involves filtering out
gig postings and discussion.

Invitation announcements may be things like:
--Send your cd to this radio show for airplay
--Seeking a bass player for show
--Seeking a collaborator for a project
--Call for submissions for a festival
--You're all invited to participate in my ad-hoc avant-garde improv hoedown!

Caveat - I'm probably going to only extend co-moderate duties to a
person I personally, to ensure that it's not somebody looking to let
their junk mail through. Fortunately I know about 3/4 of the folks on
this list.

Meanwhile, I'll try to get better about keeping up with postings.
