The Ivy Room Improv/Experimental Hootenanny series is now officially the third monday of each month!

I'm now booking for the next three: Feb 16, Mar 16 & Apr 20

Each night has:
One Featured act (40 min) - self explanatory
Two Curators (20-30 min) - responsible for bringing/engaging artists in the room to create whatever music they want
One Interlude  (2x15 min)  - a DJ or one or two self contained musicians (ie not thru pa) to make noise between main sets

There is a small honorarium for the featured act and free drinks are available to all performers by our man behind the bar, Mr. Eric Leppo.

The idea behind the monthly Experimental/Improv Hootenany is to create a seamless night of outside music in a cozy place with no cover charge where musicians/artists can chill, chat, get a decent cocktail, listen to the music and perhaps try out a new collaboration. While no particular music style is preferred over the other, the emphasis is on improvisation, collaboration and experimental music. It has been a gas to have different music scenes come together to create some crazy noise - and also great that it has been so well received, attended and appreciated - who knew?!
