Micky Dolenz is on the radio-so what?   Message List

Starting today, ex-Monkee Micky Dolenz will do the 6AM-10AM shift at our
oldies station here in NYC. While that's terrific for him, it only
reminds me of the bad old days when I went to Monkees concerts in the
90's, and Fred Velez, a HUGE Monkees fan from the 60's (and presumably
Micky's friend), wold try to mooch me by asking me to make tapes of
their concerts-with no compensation! I got tired of Fred's broken record
requests, so after August 1997 I saw the Monkees no more. But I DID give
tapes to Fred Velez-by taking them out of their cassette shells and
cutting them up! Then I said don't ask me for anything again.

So I'm very happy Micky has chosen to work here. But I am avoiding his
show.
God Bless,
Alicia
(For those in the know, Jimi opened for Micky-very briefly.)
