Re: [eyeless] Re: The Brought the Stratosphere
Hi,
I tend to agree with Jerry's thoughts about the two cassettes from Pete.
They sound more like random collections of material than a cohesive work
like "Dissonance". But some of it is actually quite interesting. One of
the tracks, "Music for playgrounds", later even appeared on the bonus
single that came with the vinyl edition of "Orange Ice and Wax
Crayons". Would be good to see them released on Beta-Lactam.

Yes, that's only fair. I actually got my copies of all three tapes
directly from Martyn. That must have been twenty years ago or something
when I sent him a fan letter asking about these tapes, and he
immediately agreed to send them for me at a very fair price, although he
had to tape them again. And now, with cd-r and paypal available, it
should all be far more easy. So perhaps Jerry can convince Pete to make
these tapes available for anyone who wants them 'on demand'.

Hope you will be better soon, Jerry. Only a third of new songs? Hmm.....
a bit of a letdown.... I hope the new songs will be available for
download somewhere on their own, like with the bonus tracks on the "All
under the leaves" re-issue.
Best
