Nfared’s Sound Track Review

Coach Carter

When a movie as moving as Coach Carter hits the big screen, you really, really
expect the soundtrack to be just as exciting. Thankfully, you feel no disconnect
at all after listening to the music from this motion picture. The music fits so
well in fact, it’s, almost as if all the artist got together, went to see the
movie and then made their song to add to the CD.

The production on this soundtrack is invigorating and refuses to let you go. To
kick off the CD, there is the Beat Factory produced “All Night Long”. Performed
by new artist Red Café, this up-tempo track was placed perfectly as the first
song on the album. It draws you in and prepares you for the pace of the rest of
the album. Red Café shows off his smooth, humorous flow, in one line saying,
“You the type to act tough when you pop in the room/but I know you’re style you
wouldn’t pop a balloon”. With a new album in stores this spring, Red Café is
putting a good jump-start on his career.

Twista and his mind boggling, fast paced flow also grace the soundtrack with a
song called “Hope”. The track, produced by Toxic for China White Records has
several elements making it beautiful. There is a guitar, children, and the heart
tugging voice of the Industry’s First Lady, Faith Evans, who sings in the
chorus, “Oh I’m hopeful/yes I am/hopeful for today/take this music and use
it/let it take you away/and be hopeful, hopeful/and he’ll make a way/I know it
ain’t easy but that’s O.K. cause we hopeful.” The song was designed to uplift
and that it does.

This project is equally pleasing on the R&B front. Ciara comes with a new song,
“Roll Wit Me”. Ciara displays a little more vocal aptitude on this track,
steering away from the chant like flow in “Goodies”. Van Hunt brings the
romance wit the sultry bedroom song “Your Love”. Letoya holds her on with her
new song for this album, “What Love Can Do”. The Corner Boyz produced track
sounds as if it was designed specifically for Letoya’s sweet yet confident
voice. DC is obviously a distant memory for her.

Final Grade
Everyone will be talking about Coach Carter all year. The poignant movie shows
that you can do anything you put your mind to. What better way to back up an
excellent movie than wit a fun and eventful soundtrack? Though it could stand to
have a few more R&B songs, the soundtrack does not disappoint. Final Grade: A
