Nice to see the name and the mystery lives on.
There used to be a Manchester, UK based Goth/Darkwave band called The
Shrouds of Turin in the late 1970s to mid 1980s. They were more
popular in Scandinavia than in the UK but hell, I guess the Scandics
had more to be depressed about, living so far North.
Some live gigs were made in the Manchester area, but they were ahead
of....you know the rest. The lead singer (Skunk Cyanide) went on to
form 'The Point Being...' in the late 1980s whereas the rest of the
band simply disappeared. They did leave a catalog of tracks with
names like 'I've got Rabies' and 'They're all Dead', and a few good
memories. As I said, nice to see 'The Shrouds' name is being put to
good use.
