Yep all those reasons why there hasn't been much buzz, I haven't
spoken to them in awhile, I should... As for the whole "getting
bigger" deal I wouldn't even come close to comparing them to the
likes of Evanescence (ick), the Shroud aren't processed and doesn't
have nu-metal riffs (two big factors), so having Evanscence being
so "sucessful" wouldn't have anything to do with the Shroud having a
chance to go mainstream. Anyhow, the Shroud aren't signed to any
labels, they have been shopping around for a long time with a lot of
underground labels, I personally think it was a mistake for Sam not
to sign them to Projekt way back when. Having spoken to both Lydia,
Rodney, and Iyan numerous times, it seems to be their mindset to not
want to ever go mainstream, and I personally think that is a good
thing. They have the Goth Rock ethics to uphold. It's what makes this
community (the Goth/Industrial etc. community) so great and so
special. If they ever do sign to a label (which I hope they do), I am
sure they will get on a pretty big underground one (such as Projekt,
Neue Aesthetik, or Metropolis (if they ever sign more Goth bands))
and will be able to set up tours through the label. I am sure we will
all one day get the chance to see them play live....
